  • Blew Seattle Night 1 and 2 away. Band was better and crowd was better. Yeah, Seattle 2 had a killer setlist, but in terms of overall show PDX was a notch above.

Golden State was incredible and Red Mosquito with Ben Harper was so sick. Those two songs alone pretty much made the show worthwhile.

Johnny Guitar has graduated in my mind from "Please don't ever play this again" to "I really wish they'd play something other than this" so I suppose it's on the way up, but still a total buzzkill. Amongst the Waves and In Hiding sounded great.
Something always comes from the music
  • This set list is great!!

show kicked ass! venue was great as amphitheaters go. very interesting and cool setlist. new songs are really good live! on to LA and san diego!!!
  • THe show was great, lots of energy.

Also, this show was not in Portland, or even Oregon. It was In Clark County, WA...specifically Ridgefield....
  • Great Show. Period. New stuff was spectacular. We called gonna see my friend as the opener. Unthought Known and Amongst the waves are sweet as hell live. Definite new favorites you want to hear these. In Hiding was nice and ripped and you got to love Present Tense so damn deep. Life Wasted really rocked. (I aint ever go back again!).

Red Mosquito with Ben definitely kicked ass. Ben works that slide. One of my highlights was Inside Job. Fucking Beautiful. We all got to get angry with Not for you.

10C seats were so so thankfully we were able to move to the center a bit for a great view thanks everyone for bein so cool.

Oh yeah.. We loved Mikes nod to Woodstock... peace....
Paramount Theater 94 (my first show)
Red Rocks 95 (the best venue)
Fiddlers Green 98 (good 10c seats)
Albuquerque 00 (good road trip, best 10c seats)
    Pepsi Center 03 (best show)
Pepsi Center 06 X 2 (still mad about TPHB)
    Portland 09
    Up Next :Telluride x 2 16
  • Awesome show, close to stage, everyone around me was cool. I was hoping they would play Red Mosquito and it sounded so good, thank you!
First Pearl Jam concert for me, won't be my last. Please don't wait so long to come back to Portland/Ridgefield.
I hope the boot comes out soon.
A real possibility I may meet you in my dreams ~ I go to sleep
  • I have seen five shows this year: the two in Chicago; both of the Seattle gigs.

This Portland show was hands-down the best of the five. No question.

I'm one of the few people on these message boards who hasn't been that big on "Unthought Known," but man did that song have some energy behind it tonight. Everyone around me was going bonkers. It was one of those songs that wins you over when you hear it live. I'm a fan now.

Before "Supersonic," Ed said: "This song is about absolutely nothing." I've never laughed harder at a Pearl Jam show.

"Amongst the Waves," my favorite off of Backspacer, sent shivers down my spine. It has that epic, anthem quality when it's played live.

I'm starting to think these guys are getting better with age. This show had so much energy. The guys had incredible stage presence; they rocked out like they were in their early 20s.

Ed had one, shall we say, "rock star" moment after the first encore. He kind of barked at one of his roadies and said, "Can I get a fuckin' guitar pick?!?!" There was some confusion setting up and getting Ed the right guitar. After that was settled he had everything ... but a pic.

Maybe these guys shouldn't throw so many into the crowd?
  • ahhhhhhhh, yess! Thank you TEN CLUB! Finally scored FRONT ROW seats!!!!!! section 102 row A seats 1-2 . siiiiiiick! great show all around, but being on the rail after so many shows was a serious treat. got some amazing photos and videos which I will post soon.

highlights included Red Mosquito w. Ben Harper , Off he Goes , In Hiding , Amongst the Waves , Once , the End solo , Porch , Golden State , Inside Job

taking a schwill of Ed's bottle of wine = EPIC ! so glad the dude he tossed it to made the catch , ha , Ed is so the man. stokedddddd

  • AWESOME show...my seats were great, the people around me were dancing just as much as i and my god, did you see the set list??? I was so damn excited to get Present Tense & Go! Also got to shake Ed's hand when he leaned off the stack of speakers (I know that sounds silly but I was giddy about the whole thing). Man, they REALLY tore it down in my opinion.

Thanks to the band for all that you do, Thanks to 10c for the great tickets & to Brad for selling me his spare!

Now...how the hell do I get to sleep after that??

Great energy last night. 17th row dead center. Obvious highlights were Red Mosquito with Ben on the guitar. If any song is perfect for Ben, it's that one. No vocals for those that worry ;). The crowd was stoked where I was at.

In Hiding was special as always. Super versions of Black and Porch tonight. Ed was very energetic the whole night.

Now at the airport after 2 hrs of sleep. Utah here I come!

They seemed to have a nice heavy metal tone to a lot of the songs last night. They straight tore it up!

  • Of all the shows I've been to I've never seen Ed in such a good mood. He was kinda kidding when he asked for the "fucking guitar pick." His one almost diva moment. Other than that he was happy and bubbly and mixing up his drink choices (Corona???). Awesome energy. Awesome show.

That being said, Clark County Amp is a shit-tastic place for a concert. It isn't doing well financially and I can see why. It isn't close to anyone. Takes forever to get in and get out. Looks like it came used from a military base. And was employing horrible crowd control. I was on the aisle and spent most of the night shooing away drunk-ass people trying to "get a little closer." This isn't GA folks...go sit in your seat.
