I spoke with Stonewalls and they are unable to help out ... They have a advertising/marketing deal with Y108 the local radio station as the "official" pre-party spot for all Copps concerts with live to air broadcast there all day. He told me they had to turn people away before the RUSH concert this spring.
There are a few other places that area large enough to accommodate a large group-
The Honest Lawyer http://www.honestlawyer.com/UE_hamilton.php it is part of the Jackson Square/Copps/Convention centre complex there....
Slainte Irish Pub -33 Bowen Street - http://www.slainteirishpub.ca is about a 15-20 minute walk but a nice large pub with 2 floors
Tailgate Charlie's - 69 John St S http://www.liquidkitty.ca next door to Slainte 15-20 minute walk to Copps
There is also all the bars at Hess Villiage which is a 10 minute walk but most of them are smaller and may not be large enough.
Any suggestions from anyone else? I will reach out to these 3 places to see if they are willing to work with the Wishlist Foundation - although it is a bit more of a walk I think Slainte would be a great option - great food and lots of beers on tap.
I should be able to help out with Hamilton. I also know a nice large Bar/Restaurant http://stonewallshamilton.com/ it is about 4 blocks from Copps. I know the owner and I will talk to him about helping The Wishlist out.
That would be super.... do yo know how many people it can hold? I can't commit to organizing this event because we'll be driving the 6 hours back from Ottawa, but we'll have all the fundraiser merch... so if you could help arrange the venue that would be amazing!
