This piece is an hommage to Rio de Janeiro - particulary to the people of the city's favela who, despite obscene inequality, find ways to build cities on mountainsides. The inspiration for my bird pot figures come from the absurd and unnatural composite creatures hieronymous bosch painted in the late 15th century. I based the pot drawning for this posteron species that are native to Brazil (toucan, social flycatcher, parrot).
