I’m convinced now more than ever that 2016 was gonna be temple of the dog related.  After chris they changed their minds.  I’d bet 2017 is more of a tribute to chris rather than a “special temple of the dog issue”
But then how much of this complaining would have been resolved by just saying so? I bet everyone would understand and have been okay with the delay if they just said they had plans for TOTD single, but were forced to change directions. It is the zero communication that makes everyone assume they just forgot.

There's no actual indication this was the plan. If it had been we could have had it a year ago.

I agree. The "typo" almost confirms for me they didnt even know what year was due.

I’m not defending the lack of communication at all, it is and always has been extremely shitty IMO.

  • Love the “Alive” version. Cool with Krusen — has that 91 fluid feel. Ed sings it in a different way. Bass and guitars sound great.

Around and Around is very different and nice hearing them do an old school rock and roll song.

Chris Cornell's death is no excuse for the delay of the 2016 single.  He died May 2017.

There is no relation. Convenient excuse for some, I suppose. Or perhaps wishful thinking

well, to be fair, if they were planning on using something from the TOTD tour, I can see it. of course, I see your point, that the 2016 single should have been in production way before then, but I'm saying if it was already going to be late, and then he passed, and they had to call an audible, I could see that.

Well, just to play devils advocate. Seeing as the TOTD tour was in November and December of 2016, they may have thought it cool to have the deep and annual single be about that tour, which could have put it out in the spring or early summer of 2017.
Not saying that is not an excuse to at least tell the 10c members of a delay, or use something else.  If that was the case about their friend passing, I hope you guys tell the band members you don't think it is a garbage reason to delay the single should you ever meet any of them.

I doubt very highly that is what he is saying. he was saying that the single should have been decided on and in production before the TOTD tour.

How so? A large number of us still have neither the music nor the magazine, including everyone who is digital. This continues to simply be a discussion of why that is. If anything the continued defenses and rationalizations are a bit nutty, to use your word.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest we'll get them in 6 days, with the next newsletter.  I've only been a member for a couple years now, but it seems they let a number of physical copies land before posting the digital files (which makes it temporarily "exclusive" to analog members...at least those in the U.S., lol).

At this point anything is possible but that is the opposite of their published policy.

Ten Club Single & Deep Magazine:
The band makes the annual Ten Club Single & Deep Magazine for the Ten Club. These are not sent right away and will be shipped to you when they are finished. You will know that these are on their way when the digital copies are made available for you on your Downloads page in your account.

Agreed. I bet every crappy business in the world dreams of having some customers like the 10C has! It would make being incompetent and unreliable to much easier and stress free!

True... but I was referring to the all new complaints - the “typo”, the song selection, and complaints about Ed mailing it in on the Berry cover.

"Complaints" about substance of single have been pretty minimal. The typo is a glaring error, and pretty epic screwup
