Sorry if this was already answered, but what happens after this album is done? We go to championship round between the 10 winner songs? Or there´s room for Lost Dogs? (which I assume would take two polls, one for each disc?)
I have a couple more poll ideas in mind after this one.
Best viewaskew films?
Haha, we all know that's Mallrats.
Clerks and Mallrats in the finals.
My bet would be Clerks and Chasing Amy in the finals.
And btw - SIRENS IS GREAT
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
It really should've gotten EVERY vote this round and be the ONLY song eliminated.
100% agree!
My Fathers Son has more votes than Sirens. WTF People!!!!
My Fathers Son is the worst live song ever this band played..
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

That's a very bold statement.
It is a bold statement, but I can't think of a song which is worse. It's definitely among the top 5 worst live in their catalogue.
no bold at all..sounds terrible live..easy to understand

I've never heard it live so all I can go by is the album version. From my shows I would say evacuation, unemployable, and parachutes have been the least enjoyable songs I've heard live.

Have you heard Sirens?
Yep, 7 or 8 times I think. The band's timing is always good, Ed's voice isn't strained, the melody is clear and enjoyable. MFS I have seen 2 or 3 times, the timing was off at times through each performance, it's demanding on Ed's voice and causes strain, and the melody is muddy live.
Plus Sirens has Mike on the 12 string which sounds great, and it ends with getting to harmonize with Eddie friggin Vedder.

It's great in it's own right, it's only average in the context of Pearl Jam, it's certainly not as bad as some PJ fans seem to think it is. I can't think of a Bruce Springsteen song that's any better than Sirens, and he's massively respected, for instance.

Yes, and I have heard two live versions of Sirens that were totally butchered vocally and instrumentally, the melody was totally off, so I disagree that the band's timing is always good and that Ed's voice isn't strained when they do it live. However, that was earlier in their LB tour, so they've working it out for the most part... but not Eddie's voice. I agree that his voice sounds very strained for parts of the album version. I don't think I'll ever understand wtf the band was thinking with Sirens. It's the most confused song PJ has ever produced.

The beginning reminds of of a country song and it has that kind of feel to it for the most part. I liked it at first, but got tired of it after awhile. I think they can make those songs work in studio, but live the strained sections are hit or miss. Any song at the top of Eddie's vocal range is pretty strained these days. He can't reach that upper octave he could in the past.
You guys are right, there are some tough moments in Sirens live, but not so many as MFS! I was there for the first live performance of both songs! MFS was a ton of fun the first time live because the old lady had hooked into the words on the chorus (which is much more enjoyable than the verse) when it was streaming right before the tour kicked off, and we were the only people in our section singing along. Initially I liked it better than Sirens, which I felt had like 3 hooks and no resolution to the friction between them, but it has grown on me while MFS has steadily declined since that first performance.

Sirens is a bottom tier PJ song - I remember everyone on Facebook getting their panties in bunch when I suggested that PJ refund me a portion of my ticket fee when they play it in concert.

A bottom tier Pearl Jam song is better than the best song many very popular bands have. I'm sure you were joking but it's a pretty rude suggestion if there's truth behind it. The band really likes that song. Mike is damn proud of it and Eddie seems to want to sing it every chance he gets.
I know this is preachy, but with the last few records I feel like the fans want the band to be who they used to be and who the fans want them to be, rather than accepting them for who they are.
I don't know why everyone is complaining about Sirens live. It's always right in the middle of the show, making it a perfect time to grab another beer with some decent background music and not really miss anything before they bring it for the next song. One of the more important parts of the show, really...

Yeah, but what about the poor people up at the front of the pit? They just have to stand there and take it.

I have to say I really like MFS. It's weird, funky, outside-the-box, non-formulaic, experimental even. It gives this album another dimension. It makes you take a double take.... "whoa...what was that?" That's definitely a good thing to me. And the bass-line craziness is just awesome.
