I'm sure you guys know but, Govt Mule played a Halloween set of 90s covers one year. Check it out on YouTube warren Haynes singing black some sound garden, Alice in chains , it was pretty cool
As a veteran of over 80 Dead shows, Throwing Stones would be great. There are so many choices....
Looks like Rain
Black Muddy River
Brokedown Palace
Sugar Magnolia
Scarlet Begonias
my head just exploded at the thought of this happening to several of the songs already mentioned
fire on the mountain
loser
sugaree
ripple (omfg!)
maybe a little morning dew. can hear him nail "thought i heard a baby cry... this morning"
cassidy would be great
brown eyed woman
help/slip/franklins are seriously some of my favorite songs by them
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
you should check out some of the versions of ripple during their acoustic sets back in, i beleive october of 1980. the one from one of the warfield shows really sticks out in my mind. purely amazing

The Dead kinda covered pearl jam I few nights back. I know it's a stretch but Phil and friends covered Rockin in the free world. I know its not really a PJ song but it kinda is and its not the grateful dead but its as close as we can get now.
This will be a HIGHLY DIVISIVE thread.
I love the Dead, saw over 150 shows in 14 years (advantage of a band that toured all year round) so there are many songs I think PJ could cover quite well but trust me there are a lot of GD/jam band haters that post here so it could get ugly.
It is awesome how many heads are on this thread. Maybe because PJ plays Oakland next!
In the shadow of the moon, terrapin station.
And I know well get there soon, terrapin station.
I can't figure out, terrapin, if it's the end or beginning, terrapin,
But the trains put it's brakes on, terrapin,
And the whistle is screaming, terrapin.
If Eddie sang Ripple I think I would pass out. Throwing Stones would be a pretty cool jam ...
Ripple has topped my list for a long time. I think I've even posted on this forum about that before. Would be phenomenal.
Yes! I've posted this too - especially as a song Eddie should cover in his solo gigs. However, I don't see the band ever going this direction even though some of them were fans (well, at least Jeff). Still can hope though
