I was just watching the GCF show again and found myself thinking that "Redemption Song" and "Imagine" were the highlights of the show. So now that they have played with both Bey and Jay which one do you think was better? PJ Nation decides

For some reason, Imagine wasn't shown out here (or I somehow missed it while watching in full). Redemption was beautiful, and I really prefer the version of Beyonce where she's just singing (in regular clothes) without all the other fluff.

Jockingly I was about to say Beyoncé, then I realize there weren't too many options, but to be honest it was damned good, Redeption Song is way far better than WMA and 99 problems combined, and it really worked out. On the other hand, I prefer other existing collaborations, and I would rather PJ didn't collaborate with Beyoncé at all for that matter, but it's not my call...

The Jay-Z collab was cooler and more unexpected.

    Sorry I laughed at this!

Her style just isn't something I value or find "empowering", and made a point of not subjecting myself to that.

After the wait I thought it was a nice touch to a long day.
I think it would be a better xmas single than the Jay Z.
    Nothing against Jay Z

I know a lot of people don't like the band to branch out into the "mainstream" and probably hated both collabs., but I always like when the band does things with other big artists of today (Beyonce and Jay-Z). As much as I love Pearl Jam, I always love to see more and more people become aware of this awesome band. I guarantee a shit load of people had no idea who PJ or Eddie Vedder was until his Redemption Song with Beyonce. It's putting the band in a light they weren't necessarily in before which I think is badass, considering they're all in their late 40's/early 50's and still melting faces! I'm in college and a lot of people my age have really only heard of PJ, never really listened to their music. After the Redemption Song, I had numerous people approach me (they all knew I was obsessed with PJ) and say they listened to PJ for the first time after seeing Eddie with Beyonce and said they loved their music. Gathering more and more fans at this stage in their lives/careers, especially ones my age (im 21) is fuckin awesome!

I don't know why you didn't put Ed and Jeanne Tripplehorn singing 'Shattered' as an option.

While the full band is actually all of them there on stage doing something together whether Ed's singing or not (i.e. is it not the full band when Stone sings Mankind or Jeff croaks Sweet Lew?), I still kind of agree to a poin since I barely even considered 99 Problems a collaboration until it was put into those words here. It was Jay-Z performing Jay-Z (oh yeah right, Mike, Jeff, Matt, and Stone played the instruments, I forgot... did Eddie play some guitar too to make it the whole band? I didn't even notice).

Well Ed is backup on mankind and sweet lew is so terrible it doesn't count as a song. Lol. But I get your point. Ed did play on 99 problems but you are right, it was jay z singing jay z with the band playing back up.
