I'm surprised no one has mentioned Interpol out of NYC. 1st albumn, Turn on the Bright Lights, was an amazing debut. 2nd albumn, Antics, was twice as good. Havn't heard them live, but they're a solid band with some potential"You think I got my eyes closed but I've been lookin' at you the whole fuckin' time...0

Queens of the stone age are spectacular. Nobody sounds like them. Check out this acoustic brilliance, and with three difference vocalists. Wow.

Any body can help me out what is the hottest shit right now?
After seeing Pearl Jam in Arnhem next Tuesday I will go on holidays!
Arnhem will be fantastic. Wolfmother will open...

It's a real shame they had to part with Nick Oliveri! Now they don't play the songs he usually sang the lead on. They still throw a great show though. Still, lost some good songs that can be played. And Mark Lanegan isn't a full time member. But I still liked their last cd, Lullabies to Paralyze and will look forward to whenever they come out with new stuff.Something never thought you'd be part of0 -
like some people have said here already...
while the drive by truckers might not be the "newest" band they are certainly making big waves. you can still see them in small venues for $15. that is the best rock, that money will buy.

yeah, i was bummed when i read that... i missed their set. after wilco we were sucked in by the blues traveler set and by the time we tore ourselves away, bss was done and rhcp was on.

Shinedown kicks ass!!! I'm listening to their newest album right now. System of a Down is another great band, and I've been digging Stone Sour lately as well."Darth Vader would say 'Impressive'."

I wasn't aware Death Cab, were considered rock... I like to call it sleepy time music.
Queens of the Stone Age! Now that is a straight up down and dirty rock band. Blazing guitars and dark melodies. Just heavey enough to headbang (who says headbang anymore?) but beautifully melodic at the same time.Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?0 -

yeah I mention them!!
I saw them live last year!! awesome band, love the 2 albums!!! My favorite song is Obstacle 1!! They are pretty good live, they don't make so much contact with the audience but that's the way they are, their music is obscure so they are too, but they sound really really good!!! I highly recommend them you will like them, actually is my 3rd favorite show of 2005 behind audioslave and of course Pearl Jam!!!
Oh I can't believe I forgot The Arcade Fire!!! AWESOME BAND!! my fave record of 2004!!!Pearl Jam Mexico 2005, The greatest year ever!
