    Well if you go choosing one of the first Heavy Metal bands, arguably "Proto-metal," along with Deep Purple and company, I can't really argue. I'm talking more along the line of Cryptopsy and Nile and Blind Guardian.

    I'm not saying they're not some bastardized form of rock right up there with Limp Bizkit. What I'm saying is that they put on an awful show and their music is very, very bad.

    I'm not saying you have to like them i'm just saying they are hard rock, but next to Limp Bozkit never. The lyrics P.O.D write are about hope and inspiration they don't write about the nookie and crap like that, and plus P.O.D can play reggea which is a big plus, cause not just any rock band is good enough to bust out with some reggea. :)

Sure, it may have evolved from rock and roll, I do not deny that, but now it is so stylistically different that it would be a huge stretch to consider metal "Rock and roll." Emperor certainly isn't rock and roll. Gory Blister isn't rock and roll. Bolt Thrower is not rock and roll.

    So please, show me how it is ignorant. Denying metal's rock and roll roots (via the late 60's early 70's hard rock bands) would be ignorant. I'm not doing that, however.

    Sabbath is rock, yeah (like I said, metal devoloped from rock and roll). Black album/Load/Reload Metallica is rock, bands often change their styles.

    Strapping Young Lad, Iced Earth, Nevermore, et cetera is not rock and roll music. Good music, yes, but not rock.

    Don't get take this the wrong way Echoes, but how is it not rock? Not trying to argue, but I would like to know why you think it's not.
