Good album that was!
I'm not sure I could choose one favorite from that bunch ... one of the greatest, if not THE greatest run in rock history."Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." ~ MLK, 19630 -

Without a doubt!
Fins! Yup, Get Your Ya Ya's out definitely had some overdubs on it. Everyone knew that when it came out.
A lot of live albums did back then. Live at Leeds was full of them.
That was before the International Standard of Live Album Wholesomeness and Authenticity Act of 1977 was put into effect.
I still like it though!Be kind, man

hippiemom wrote:The only run that compares is Bringing It All Back Home/Highway 61/Blonde on Blonde. Only 3 albums instead of 4, but the fact that he released them all within just over one year is such a stunning achievement, it's breathtaking.
That is a great set of 3.
Man, I can't think of 4 albums in a row that were the soundtrack of my life like those Stones ones, though.
The only other run I can think of is the Bach Cello Suites 1-6.
6 great ones in a row!!
I was really young when Bach wrote them, though, so I couldn't buy albums yet.Be kind, man

Still, yeah, a pretty good run. I was young too, but my dad bought them so I got to listen"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." ~ MLK, 19630 -
Personally, I think the first 6 Zeppelin albums are the greatest run ever.
Jimi's 3 studio albums ain't bad, either.0 -
The first 4 Zeppelin albums and Beggars Banquet/Let It Bleed/Sticky Fingers/Exile on Main Street are the greatest runs of albums in rock history. My favorite album of all time is Sticky Fingers!!!0

STICKY FINGERS for me
Brown Sugar / Sway / Can't You Hear Me Knocking / Sister Mophine / Dead Flowers....what a classic record.
After Fingers...Exile on Main St, Let it Bleed, Some Girls, Goats Head Soup. Honorable mentions to A Bigger Bang, Bridges to Babylon, Between the Buttons, Aftermath, and December's Children
And, as much as I love Beggar's Banquet and Tattoo You, for some reason they don't sound nearly as good on cd as they do on vinyl.I love my female wife...

Am I the only one here who thinks their 60s albums are way better than their 70s albums? I guess I'd have to say my favorite is Between The Buttons, followed by Beggars Banquet, followed by Aftermath.
Their Satanic Majesties Request is a fantastic album as well, better than Exile On Main Street even.0 -
yayzers for STICKY FINGERS!!!0

What's yer favorite by theirs?0 -
Black And Blue was my first Stones album, and remains a great favourite of mine. It also contains my favourite Stones 'ballad' Memory Motel.
After that I'd choose Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, Beggar's Banquet and Aftermath.I changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate...
