les Thugs, a band from Angers, France. They were on Sub Pop and Alternative Tentacles labels.I saw them in a small club in San Francisco in the early 1990s: it was one of the most amazing rock shows I have ever experienced, up there with the 7/15 PJ show. I don't know if they are still together, I have not seen new releases from them for a long time.

i agree with my morning jacket, iron and wine, the new pornographers

i would sleater-kinney, broken social scene, and doves.

i think doves should be the biggest band in the world. while i do not think they are best -still damn damn good, doves is a band that has very anthemic songs that i am surprised have not caught on, where as a band like coldplay gets all the hype. i guess my friend put it best: when you a guy that looks like grizzly adams -doves-the commerical potential is not that good.

Paw made one of the best cds of all time, IMO. Dragline is a masterpiece but yet so overlooked. Their second record "Death to Traitors" is also excellent but impossible to get any longer....I highly recommend them both...sort of grunge with a country vibe to it

    FLY MY PRETTIES

not technically a band but an amzing collaboration of artists, headed by barnaby weir from the black seeds, another band that should be more known but aren't really outside of NZ.

I was just saying that the average person has no idea who the Kings of Leon or Black Keys are. I know that people on a music board know them, but the average person won't. I bet if I asked 50 random people, less than a handfull could tell you anything about them.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
