was insane. I don't think any songwriter can match the quality he had in the "mellon collie" period. Even the b-sides on the Airplane flies high are better than most bands a-sides. He must have written about 10 songs a day back then.

I agree Billy was writing some very strong stuff at that point, but Neil Young and Bob Dylan both come to mind of having equallly prolific periods of creativity.

What do you think are the chances of the new Pumpkins album being any good?
I'm guessing it will be a big dissapointment, but that means they can easily suprise me with something really good.
Here's to hoping!“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -

Chances are it's gonna fucking rock because Corgan is gonna come out and make these emo panzies look like shit."Darth Vader would say 'Impressive'."

I know I'll love the new stuff! It's like PJ, it's weird sometimes, but then one day it clicks!
Anyway Siamese Dream-Mellon Collie, holy fucking shit. Brilliance. I can't get enough of Where Boys Fear to Tread right now, also X.Y.U. and ZeroCan't forget Jellybelly and Muzzle and In the Arms of Sleep either! The whole fucking album is a masterpiece.

I thought the Machina albums were really, really lousy. Also, while Adore was a great record in its own right, it felt like such a letdown after the masterpiece.
Anybody enjoy the Machina records?
Corgan was also starting to get on my nerves by that point, so maybe it played in to my feelings for the records“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -

MACHINA I and II are awesome! There are rough spots, I'll give you that, but Jesus Christ they take me for a ride. I don't care for some of the drumming (sounds like a drum machine sometimes), don't know what Jimmy was thinking, he's fanfuckingtastic!

So.....if one were looking to revisit Machina 2, how would he/she go about finding it?
It's been years“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”0 -

Too bad he did Zwan (that's what it was called wasn't it), some of the worst garbage I've ever heard.Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?0 -
i think that soem of the pumpkins stuff is radiohead before radiohead was radiohead (if that makes any sense).
i also find it funny that radiohead scored big with kid a / amnesiac but machina was panned.those undecided, needn't have faith to be free0 -
