Everyday and Stand Up aren't their best work.

But they have created great music since BTCS. Busted Stuff and Lillywhite are great material. Plus, there are a lot of great songs not on an album yet.....Crazy Easy, Shotgun, #27, Joy Ride, Sugar Will, Cornbread, Eh Hee, A Dream So Real, The Idea of You....to name a few. I really am confident the current studio sessions will yield a nice album.

    You forgot BREAK FREE!!!

    Awesome awesome song.

So they are working on a new album? I thought they were just going to tour the rest of their lives, haha... when's it expected to be released? I guess now after the tour?
If I could, think I would give in.

or is it because they have released fucking shit after btcs.

before that they were great, now they suck balls

I have never liked their music to be honest, always found it boring (there are a few songs that are alright I guess). It doesnt help them out that such a large percentage of their fans own their cds and then only whatever else is in the top 40. I hate to make generalizations but I gotta say that there is no way that so many people could like their type of music (particularly those whose other cds only consist of Fergie, Nickelback, Kenny Chesney, or Soulja Boy)

so yea i know what good music is.

blind faith in a band just because you liked what they started with is retarded.

Not true....busted stuff is great. Grey street, kit kat jam, bartender. I can see how everyday and standup is bad but busted stuff has some great songs.

It's good to know that we are one step closer to that horrible band breaking up.

no kidding... pretty sad that their fanbase would be alright with hearing the same damn material every summer... dont blame 'em considering every album they release is worse than the one before it

and ive seen 'em live 3 times (my friends a big fan) so dont just call me a hater for the sake of whats "cool"

actually, i love dmb AND oasis....maybe i just have a large library of music in my brain. trust me, there are far worse bands out there. DMB is incredible and its too bad if you dont like them cause you obviously do not know good music

I was just pestering "pjoasisrule" who just can't stop saying "they suck"

What I've thought of Oasis's fans in the past has only declined since reading "pjoasisrule's" this band sucks posts :)

I've seen DMB and Tim Reynolds and dig what they offer up. They'll all survive this.

Sounds like a certain band that I enjoy seeing. I think I might be on their message board right now ;)

I was actually hoping Dave left, not Butch :)

One could argue this not possible, but I am now more dumb for having read this post.

    Ugh, Cornbread is terrible.

Sugar Will is good, though. Most of the others are at least listenable, which is more than you can say for much of Stand Up.
  • Eh Hee & Shotgun are good.

Idea Of You is crap.. as was Can't Stop.

Hope this tour kicks ass.. still need to see The Stone live.

Plus, Tim Reynolds is on the roster this summer. I'll take that trade anyday.

    I did not know this...
looks like I'll be seeing DMB again!

Tim Reynolds makes Mike McCready look like he just picked up his first guitar!

Can't stop is not good. Idea was good initially. Not as enamored with it lately.

who the fuck said i like all their stuff just cause their first albums were good? listen man, you post a thread about any band out there, im talking ANY BAND, and you will have people saying "oh well they WERE good but now they cant make decent music"...dude im sick of hearing that shit. i like them because they are extremely talented and can put on a show. their music is good, even the stuff after btcs. just because it might not be what YOU want their music to be, is no reason to hate a band.

besides, they make more money than you ever will, so im sure they are not that bad. they could tour the rest of their lives without making new music and still sell venues out.

ha... good logic... so the bands that make the most money are the best? nickleback shows sell out too... you know who buys the tickets? nickleback fans... it just means theres more dorks out there than real music fans would like for there to be

and your last statement is a big part of the problem most people have with the band... dont just take advantage of the loyalty of your fan base while not giving them any good new music in return... im not saying theyre not talented musicians... i just think that talent could be better used in the studio than automatically touring every summer just because its expected

That is total bullshit. Completely different playing styles, but perhaps that is lost on you.

I'm happy about Tim touring w/ DMB. It is always fun to see him play with structure. I had the unfortunate experience of seeing him solo once, and it was the worst thing I'd ever seen. Total musical masturbation. I looked around at a floor full of pretty bored people and walked out. Tim is an amazing talent, but definitely needs to be reigned in.

I enjoyed Butch's contribution, but it defintely got old at times, so I'll be happy to see the band this summer without him.

Pretty thrilled about this actually. Couldn't have made a better swap imo. Those piano jams just absolutely killed all the energy in those songs for me.

You are correct. Some of Butch's fills are nice, but he takes the wind out the sails during his jams.
