Beyond the Wheel is not a very good song.0 -

Awesome! You're right, how could I have not initially appreciated the brilliance here. Maybe this new record is just so smart that we can't even begin to comprehend what we're hearing...Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

it's safe to say we have very different tastes in music.0 -
As good as Beyond the Wheel is, the guy's written some of the most brilliant songs ever. Burden in My Hand, Outshined, Fell On Black Days, Mind Riot, Loud Love, and many more that he solely wrote in Soundgarden. Not to mention Sunshower and Seasons, if you want a different direction.
Such a fall from graceI am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...

this is one step closer for Chris to become the Rod Stewart of our generation0

I love Soundgarden, but that song is weak. It's a bunch of cheesy heavy metal sillyness; some of the worst lyrics he's written.0 -
Ground Zero would actually be good if it weren't for the hilarious animal sounds in the background.0

Rod never rocked like Chris. Who was the greatest singer ever that went into experimentation phases and put out questionable albums??? Oh yeah, Robert Plant. We've known all along they are the greatest two singers of hard rock. Luckily for Plant, he didn't have the information super highway in 80s. He would have got ripped for conforming and selling out and accused of everything that is probably true just like Cornell. Of Course, Cornell also comes from the scene that was anti-pop, so he's got that working against him. He's is way more of a song writer, and that may be promising for his future records. I really hope he does put out some more dark albums, because he's the best at that. May be he will, may be not; but if he's "our generation's" anything its Robert Plant.ii44 wrote:Ground Zero would actually be good if it weren't for the hilarious animal sounds in the background.

The song is technically amazing, but that doesn't mean it's an actual good song.
Anything after Badmotorfinger up to DOTU is gold. "Art metal" at its best.0
