What was the dissapointing? The song? The Performance/ Execution? The way he was dressed?

  • So many fools on here complaining about Cornell. Havent you heard his interviews he dont make the same record twice. So this album he doing something different. No big deal. His voice is unmatched. Lives shows are great.

I was flipping channels and saw the back half of the performance. It seemed pretty uninspired and drab. The song wasn't very memorable, either.

Edit: Should mention that the vocals sounded great, though.

I agree that he is a great songwriter and has a great voice.

But his latest collaboration with Timbaland is fucking awful. I don't know how anybody can defend that crap.

That doesn't make Cornell a bad person. But there's no denying it's a bad song.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • although i probably wont buy his album i think all the bitching about his latest album is wrong, chris is intitled to make what music he wants, you cant expect him to put out another soundgarden or audioslave or another Euphoria Morning type album, he's not that sort of musician and i fully respect that and so should the people who say they are fans of his.

Oh I think most of us respect his right to do what the hell he wants to, it's just that the stuff we've heard so far is not exactly groundbreaking in its originality, or for that fact even very listenable. Over on the Cornell thread you'll see people openly admitting to liking 'pop' music, it's just that the way this stuff has turned out it sounds sub standard in every way, shape and form. Someone suggested maybe this stuff was scheduled for Justin Timberlake B sides and Chris came along..........doesn't sound too far from the truth what I've heard of it. It's crappola of the lowest kind....it's bland! :p
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • Chris seems to be going through a crisis that a lot of 60's and 70's bands went through in the 80's...completely alientaing their original fanbases by making commercial pap that utilizes modern trends.

I dont get this whole "soundgarden reunite thing" Even if they did, what makes anyone think they would be sold out? Hardly anyone now knows who soundgarden is, its not like they were nirvana.

Chris Cornell has one of the best voices ever and had made unreal music for years, but I really don't care for his new solo material. I don't know, it just seems to be lacking something.

Even if the song was great, he is giving absolutely no emotion during this song (on leno). He seemed either disinterested or high.

If you had Timbaland with a gun to your dogs head backstage you would just want to hurry up and get it over also. Once you sign on with Timbaland your ass is his. Just wait and see what kind of things he has in store for Chris. It could be real ugly.

that was really boring. chris didn't even seem to be enjoying singing that.

Yep, he looked bored as fuck. Still, I'm sure people will be shouting out for it at concerts in 15 years time like they do for Black Hole Sun, Outshined etc ;)
