Lets be fair, Bil Wyman seemed very excited about 15 year old girls.

And a little birdie told me this U2 album is gonna be great.

Is the reason why it's gonna be great is because they now need Eno and Lanois to help them make music?

Why all of a sudden include them in the songwriting process?

Just off stage, man, just off stage......besides she sure didn't look like a 15 year old.

They've been included in the songwriting process since Unforgettable Fire. Just always uncredited. They both almost had a permanent split with U2 when they were not given some songwriting credits on All That You Can't Leave Behind.

I don't care who you have to work with, if it leads to albums like Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby I'm all for it. Three truly great albums, three albums breaking the mold of the previous album. That's an impressive feat.

I don't know if the new album will be great but U2 is never boring when they are going to new places musically.

I'm quite sure there are many songs by PJ where Brendan O'Brien should have a songwriting credit. That's why PJ continues to work with him. It's also the reason Jimmy Page produced Led Zeppelin and changed engineers regularly on their albums. He didn't want anyone else being given credit for his and the band's creative output.

As has been mentioned, if you are familiar with the band, you know this is not a new thing.

There's no need to have the other band members active when you have a frontman like Bono @ US Festival 83'.

  • I'm just really over U2. Their last 2 albums have been sub-par at best. And just cause Edge does work with Music Rising means I have to like them? Fuck that. I have an opinion, and it's that they should hang it up. I like Edge actually, I just find Bono very, very lame.

Most people I know feel the same way about Pearl Jam

Bump....Checkout his antics on stage and above it. This was one THE most memorable moments from the entire US Festival. It was what basically got them recognized in America.

One of their songs "Mercy" has been floating around for a couple of years. I believe it's one of the songs cut from HTDAAB, but Bono said in a recent interview that it would be included on their new album. Anyway, it's certainly better than any other song that was released on their last album, in my opinion. I wonder why it got cut? Has anyone else heard this?
  • I wish rap would go away. If we're wishing popular music away that is where I'd start. I can give or take U2. I'd rather hear their music blasting out of speakers of the teenagers cars than BOMP, BOMP, BOMP yeah niggas, yeeeeah, mudderfuka dis and mudderfuka that, I'm a mudderfukin pimp raise yo mudderfukin hands in the air. yeeeeaaah, word.

I'm not sure why it was cut but maybe it was just due to it didn't fit in what they were attempting to do on that particular album...HTDAAB.

However here's the song MERCY. Also on this video is that E. Vedder @ the 5:04 mark Mercy II?

  • I dont know what it is about U2 but I just dont like them. I dont know if it's there music that bugs me or the fact that the guitarist calls himself The Edge but something really bugs me about them and I can't pin point it.

    Just thought id share.
