And then shock horror, what if the writer had used Pearl Jam instead of Coldplay?!?!?!?!?!?!? this thread would be 20 pages long including threats on said writers life, questioning his inteligence and totally denouncing said film and any future works by him based on that one line. Can not be arsed with life no more.0 -
It's a shame that some people can't just laugh at a silly joke.0

Along with numerous threads explaining how Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, et al, are in fact the ones who are gay.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -

I never said they were, nor did I say Coldplay were, I'm just estimating the reaction had it been the case.
It's a fucking joke at the end of the day, in a fictional film, people take things way to seriously is the point I was making. Can not be arsed with life no more.0 -
That whole "you know how I know you're gay" bit was totally off the cuff. I read an interview with Paul Rudd later where he'd said he felt bad about the comment because he actually kind of liked Coldplay and now they're the butt of gay jokes. No pun intended. Whatever. People need to lighten up. Coldplay is a shell of their former selves and 40-year Old Virgin was one of the funniest movies in years. No dissent will be tolerated.0

You are so right - only a few decent comedies out there at the moment (My Name is Earl, Always Sunny in Philidelphia, Family Guy and American Dad), especially in relation to movies and British comedy.
Also - I hate Coldplay - sorry!http://www.wishlistfoundation.org

Why is this a big deal exactly? I don't know of any bands that have an exclusively gay fanbase. Clearly a joke.
Oh and they didn't use PJ in the joke due to a lack of falsetto vocals.Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?0
