Those are some dark, creepy, unsettling (whatever you want to call it) tunes.

or "Lily" by the Pumpkins. It sounds so light and fluffy but the lyrics are, like the one I posted above, about a stalker.
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"
  • * Crown of Thorns - Corrosion of Conformity
    * Old Skin - Acid bath - "we eat the wisemans eyes for sight that we might see the darkness if we kill the lights fast enough..."
    * Bones of Babydolls - Acid Bath
    * Hangman's Daughter - Agents of Oblivion
    * Lullaby - The Cure
    * Laugh it off - eyehategod
    * Boogie Woogie Woo - ICP
    * Friday - Life Of Agony
    * Sweet Dreams - Marilyn Manson
    * Helena - Misfits - "if I cut off your arms and I cut off your legs, would you still love me anyway?" :p
    * (just for the opening line) Into the Woods - My Morning Jacket
    * Hurt - NIN
    * House of 1000 corpses - Rob Zombie
    * Dark side of the womb - Type O Negative
    * Don't Leave me now - Pink Floyd
    * One Big Crunch - White Zombie - "making a far bigger impression on his skull, than on the ladies..." ;)

    * my personal favourite as it's said by a child, over cradle music... Call of the Zombie - Rob Zombie

"And out of the darkness, the Zombie did call
True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads... hehe!"

oh and anything by Cannibal Corpse and Necrophagia :D
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

The Mercy Seat is pretty creepy too.

"and the mercy seat is waiting
and I think my head is burning
and in a way I'm yearning to be done
with all this measuring of proof,
an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth,
and anyway I told the truth
and I'm not afraid to die"
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

Good call indeed. Ocean Doesn't Want Me also, since it's pretty much the same thing.

Suffer Little Children by The Smiths is absolutely horrible. A song about the Moors Murders complete with crying children samples...

And likewise, The Kids by Lou Reed. Legend has it that producer Bob Ezrin went home with a 4 track recorder and told his kids that their mother had left and then recorded their screaming. I don't think it's true but it's a horrible idea :o

I reckon I can put a Tom Waits song in every one of these threads.

    Most beautiful song ever.

    Saddest song ever.

    Creepiest song ever.

    Most depressing song ever.

    Most thigh-slappin', rootin-tootin', high-follutin', frog-stompin' song ever.

    Most awesome 'noise-shamefully-passing-for-a-song' ever.

    and on...
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

    Jethro Tull....Aqualung

    Sitting on a park bench
eyeing little girls with bad intent.
    Snot running down his nose
    greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.
    Drying in the cold sun
Watching as the frilly panties run.
    Feeling like a dead duck
spitting out pieces of his broken luck.
    Peace,

    The Doors - Horse Latitudes
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut

Caesar Romero's Matamoros album sounds very sinister, came across it by chance in the basement of a record store closedown. A headfuck-full of songs, not sure how to describe them, maybe twisted latino caberet, Ennio Morricone crack-addled on cold turkey or something like that.
