Dick Jones!!ha! Awesome! More than happy to do so my fellow {WS} fiend. Ya know, as completely OBSESSED that I am with RED RAIN I agree with you that the performance on Conan was different. I still thought it sounded amazing though. I just think it's actually because of the layers of Jackie's voice missing there that lead it to not translate 100% live. All the Get Behind songs that I've witnessed live have been 110% and then some though! OK...except for that show last week. :eek: But hey, things were just "off" in general so it wasn't specific to that album. My Doorbell was the most noticeable as far as Meg's concerned. ANYWAYS...the album does translate excellently live. I do just think that RED RAIN sound different cuze it's stripped down. I'm still dying to hear it though. I don't give a fuck!!! That song is TOO FUCKIN AMAZING! Good call on the 'No Code' comparison. I totally agree. This is a huge change for the mighty twosome. I know a lot of people couldn't deal with that too. I've heard sooo many complaints about how Jackie ain't shredding it up enough like he usually does...blah blah blah :rolleyes: No, instead he's exploring a BUNCH of different sounds and how that's a bad thing I'll never understand. Agreed though, it IS a huge change and that's not for everyone. Eh, their loss completely. This is EASILY one of the greatest albums of the year imo as well.

Aww El Riot Actor, you are SO welcome! It HAD to be done! Hope you're enjoying it. And that is so very cool of you to still go buy it. This band is for sure waaaaaaaaaay deserving of that support.

Wow that's awesome ScreamingLemur. Cannon is for sure one bad ass song!! Once again, I totally agree about Meg too. Her role in the {WS} is an important one. She's perfect. As Jackie has said before, she adds such innocence. Her simplistic, primal approach is just PERFECT for what they are about and what they are trying to get across. l like the way you summed it up, "captivating,really rough sounding yet mesmerizing". It's true. She's SO much behind those skins. Raw, sexy, fragile, primal, powerful, mesmerizing. She's awesome. Yes Jackie is a fuckin out of control talent....but the {WS} wouldn't be what they are without BOTH of them ya know?


So have you gotten into any of their more recent stuff at all? Have you given GET BEHIND ME SATAN a listen? I still can't get over this album. BEYOND WORDS AMAZING!!!!!! It's definitely a huuuuuge change for them but that's what I love about it. Not all {WS} fans found this a change that they could embrace. I personally think it is absolutely kick ass that Jackie is exploring all the layers of his talent. Ain't nothing wrong with that. He can do SO much! Have I mentioned that I find it mind boggling how much music flows effortlessly outta this man?????

Ah while I'm here I might as well BUMP it up with another fav from the mighty 2.;) This one has been in heavy rotation lately. Love the emotion from Jackie here. Singing about being filled with rage but sounding so calm and beautiful yet you can still reeeeally feel that power! Once again Jackie brings us real, raw, powerful and emotional lyrics with a voice just as perfect to match it all. This line always grabs me...

Such a gorgeous song. Heavenly piano that just makes ya wanna weep! What a match it is with this beautfiul guitar work too. This band has a thing with intros...they seriously know how to hook you RIGHT from the beginning. Yet another intro here that I LOOOOOOOVE to bits. Everything about the song blends together flawlessly. It just sticks to you. Country-ish, bluesy, melancholy...brilliant! I can't get it outta my head.

That should get you started. So yeah, why wait? Makes much more sense to live in the PRESENT TENSE I hear.

After that they're heading to Japan. They were suppose to do Japan before AU I believe, but Jackie hurt his vocal chords :(. He was told not to sing or even speak ( :eek: ) for 2 weeks. They had to postpone the dates till March. Very glad he's is doing better now though.
