What was your first guitar pedal?

After reading Sennin's reply about the first pedal being a Dan-o, I was wondering what everyone's first pedal was...

Mine was the DS-1 Distortion by BOSS (back in my Nirvana days :) )

    a dano fabtone (the old maroon metal one). sounded like ass. i recently bought another one though for sentimental reasons. still sounds like ass.

    actually my first effect was a digitech RP10 multieffect board. it sounds like ass too. still have it.

    My first was an Ibanez TS-9 tubescreamer, because WAAAAY back in the day, there was a snippet somewhere on the old Sony/Epic PJ site that said both Stone AND Mike used them. I was looking for something better than my solid-state Fender amp's on-board distortion, something bigger and meatier like PJ.

    I thought the pedal sucked ass.

    Now, 10 years later... I own two of them, and have discovered that they are AWESOME. In front of a tube amp. They still suck ass thru a solid-state amp.

    My second pedal was a Crybaby Wah. Glad that thing's gone... I'm a Vox guy now.
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

    I'm glad so many of you had shitty first pedals....it makes me feel better since I think my pedal's going to suck too! :p

    At least it was only $19.99. <---prolly for a reason :D

    My first effects pedal was actually a multi-effects pedal called an ECC (Effects Command Center) made by Applied
    Research & Technology (ART) click here: ART ECC - I thought it was quite a decent pedal - made from heavy duty
    metal, with tour-grade rubber stomps, and decent sound (I don't know why I stopped using it other than simplicity).

    My first single pedal was a Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble.

    It was actually for Bass but anyway, It was a Behringer bass chorus. Not bad either, only $19.99!

    I had a Zoom 505 for years and years.

    But my first 'single' pedal was Boss DS-1.

    The first effects pedal I bought was a zoom 1010 multi effects. Not the greatest but it let me play around with different effect types before deciding what individual pedal to buy.

    I bought a boss overdrive pedal off a mate but I lent it out and never got it back. I consider my first proper pedal purchase to be a cry baby wah.

    Boss DS-1. I used it for a little while but now it sounds far too "modern" for my liking.

    Also not pictured in there is the EH Holy Grail reverb I just got. I owned it when I took that picture a couple of weeks ago, but I did not have a power supply for it. It comes after the Head Rush.

    So is the Moog like an Envelope Filter?

    Two of the best delays ever into a looper.... nice.

    It was identical to the one in that photo, too. The thing literally fell apart in the end. I wish I was as clued up about looking after these things then, as I am now. No delay pedal I've had comes close to its warmth. One day, I'll buy an old Maestro Echoplex.

    Are you counting the Head Rush as one, or the DD-5 and MD-3?

    I still have it and occasionally use it, though I've since modded it.

    excellent, that's what I was hoping. I have discovered the glories of octave effects and envelope filters of late.

    I was counting the DD-5 and MD-3. The head rush is pretty great too.
