5 years since a Texas Date?????

Fuck this shit.
I am officially trying for Boston, if my boss will give me the days off. I have the miles for a free flight and I have a free lodging in Providence, RI.
All I need is my boss's approval and to not get shut out of tickets. Thursday will be a very stressful day for me.
But, yeah, them not playing Texas is bullshit.
However, we sill have the ACL rumor and that superpages.com email to hold on to.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

They list about 10 bands coming to Dallas this summer, and both times, Pearl Jam has been one of the bands listed.
No, they do not list a date. I've been trying to find it out.
Here's 2 dates in Texas for you - Sept. 25th Dallas and Sept. 28th Austin! Houston and/or San Antonio will probably fit in there too. See you there!Live and let live

Source? Because the ACL rumor has them playing playing ACL on 9/28.
I wish I knew this was a sure thing because then I would skip trying for Boston.

Let me guess....your going to the east coast shows?
The dates have been published, then confirmed, no more "planned" shows, so I'm heading east. Same shows as u2mofo@u2.com will be attending and I got a low number.10-18-2000 Houston, 04-06-2003 Houston, 6-25-2003 Toronto, 10-8-2004 Kissimmee, 9-4-2005 Calgary, 12-3-05 Sao Paulo, 7-2-2006 Denver, 7-22-06 Gorge, 7-23-2006 Gorge, 9-13-2006 Bern, 6-22-2008 DC, 6-24-2008 MSG, 6-25-2008 MSG0 -

Here's the text from the email:

It just happened to work out that I was headed up to NJ/NYC that weekend to see MMJ at Radio City. Now I got a reason to fly up a little early and see PJ for my 3rd time in Camden! Amazing place to see the band (not the town itself)!
Some dates here in September would be amazing. A headlining spot at ACL would go nicely with the Bonnaroo gig. Luckily those shows at the Gorge have prepared them for the 2 festivals. HOT HOT.0 -

Gonna try and head east as well. Don't want to take any chances on rumors, regardless if they develop or not.
But PJ in Austin would be great....
Damn!!!Austin, TX0 -

I would love to see them make a Texas stop this year.
Normally I would totally travel east, but I'm teaching a few classes Summer 1 so I don't think I'll be able to make it. :( I'm keeping my fingers crossed for September. At least in Fall classes don't meet every day.
As for the last shows in Texas, I thought they were all a blast. The San Antonio show was definitely my favorite. It was their fist time here, it was a birthday show and they pulled out some great songs.
Dallas was awesome. Alive to open, coming back with Arc and the whole WMD thing - how is that not memorable?tremor wrote:I concur. I should have mentioned that. I was at the SA show that year too and it was one of the better shows I've seen them play. They were in a good mood that night. I recall the mexican PJ fan was out in full force that night, waiving flags and showing lots of enthusiasm as they do so well. They opened with Of The Girl, sweet.
WTF? Well hey, at least you think we can cheer? What is that supposed to mean?0 -
Westernsky wrote:WTF? Well hey, at least you think we can cheer? What is that supposed to mean?
That's supposed to mean that mexicans are pretty enthusiastic at pj concerts. Have you seen footage from the Mexico City shows? They blow most of the american crowds that I've seen away.0 -

Ah, I see. So it's the non-Mexicans who are bringing us down in Texas in terms of crowd enthusiasm?
Got it, thanks.
Let me just take this opportunity to remind Pearl Jam that San Antonio is a majority minority city and so hence, by this logic, we bring it every night.0 -
Wow. Lots of other Austin people here!! Yes absolutely hoping for ACL and an ACL Studio taping as well.
Probably heading to Camden, hoping for Camden II, and possibly staying through DC, MSG1 and MSG2.
ACL is supposed to be announced on 4/15. PJ headlining certainly has been the big rumor around here.0 -
