It just happened to work out that I was headed up to NJ/NYC that weekend to see MMJ at Radio City. Now I got a reason to fly up a little early and see PJ for my 3rd time in Camden! Amazing place to see the band (not the town itself)!
Some dates here in September would be amazing. A headlining spot at ACL would go nicely with the Bonnaroo gig. Luckily those shows at the Gorge have prepared them for the 2 festivals. HOT HOT.
I would love to see them make a Texas stop this year.
Normally I would totally travel east, but I'm teaching a few classes Summer 1 so I don't think I'll be able to make it. :( I'm keeping my fingers crossed for September. At least in Fall classes don't meet every day.
As for the last shows in Texas, I thought they were all a blast. The San Antonio show was definitely my favorite. It was their fist time here, it was a birthday show and they pulled out some great songs.
Dallas was awesome. Alive to open, coming back with Arc and the whole WMD thing - how is that not memorable?
I concur. I should have mentioned that. I was at the SA show that year too and it was one of the better shows I've seen them play. They were in a good mood that night. I recall the mexican PJ fan was out in full force that night, waiving flags and showing lots of enthusiasm as they do so well. They opened with Of The Girl, sweet.
WTF? Well hey, at least you think we can cheer? What is that supposed to mean?

That's supposed to mean that mexicans are pretty enthusiastic at pj concerts. Have you seen footage from the Mexico City shows? They blow most of the american crowds that I've seen away.

Ah, I see. So it's the non-Mexicans who are bringing us down in Texas in terms of crowd enthusiasm?
Got it, thanks.
Let me just take this opportunity to remind Pearl Jam that San Antonio is a majority minority city and so hence, by this logic, we bring it every night.

Yes, it's those whiteys that could learn a thing or two from their southern brethern.
I hear you. I'm very disappointed they are ignoring Texas yet AGAIN. I would certainly travel but that isn't in the cards for us this year. Hope the rumor is true, but I'm not going to count on it.
Honestly, if PJ doesn't make it to texas this year, I have no idea when they would ever play. I know quite a few other states can make the same claim, so here's hoping everyone can get some love in 08!
The Dallas 2003 show was great. Everyone in the seats was having a blast and I'm sure the lawn was too. Hopefully that September date for Superpages.com (fomerly Smirnoff Center) is true. Someone posted it as being Sept 25. That's the Thurs before the big ACL weekend in Austin. If they take the Sunday night headline spot (assuming they play) that leaves another date for Fri or Sat in Texas or both nights if they want to play 4 shows in a row but that seems unlikely. Hope they get back here soon. I thought after being out of college, and working for six months I'd have money ti travel to see them, but looks like that isn't gonna happen. I'd rather see two Texas shows anyway cause it would be more than one show and cheaper for me. Hopefully they get back here soon.
Now you know what it's like to be a European or Australian and we know it's gonna be like that pretty much every album and less recent times are a sign to come. At least they're playing in your country year on year. I do hope you get some shows though.

In the other BS thread on Texas shows, Kat explicitly stated no more planned shows....think that pretty much ends it.....no?!?!
Now head east
The emails were posted before dates were announced; so i dont think all of them are to prevent people from buying east coast tickets. Kat said no more are planned, but did not say no more will be announced. I wouldnt skip east coast specifically for Texas shows; but I wouldnt lose hope either. Specially if ACL is confirmed. Till then enjoy the present, till the next wave arrives.
It's also been 10 years since they played South Dakota. Come on back to the "Coyote State"!

Probably heading to Camden, hoping for Camden II, and possibly staying through DC, MSG1 and MSG2.
ACL is supposed to be announced on 4/15. PJ headlining certainly has been the big rumor around here.

Been 10 years since they've played in Utah, and we didn't even produce the worst president in the history of the U.S.
what's utah?
