    Here’s the most important part. The congressman believes Trump “wants a political slush fund for his movement to turn that January 6 army into a permanent private militia for future political entanglements.” Once the former insurrectionists are paid, they will be beholden to Trump.
    He could call them up to “monitor” midterm voting or intimidate his perceived rivals. We’ve already heard Trump talk about using ICE or other federal law enforcement to ensure election integrity for the midterms. Many of the now-pardoned insurrectionists would be ready to go again for their guy.

    The Trump administration is moving to weaken environmental protections for oil, gas, and coal companies operating on public lands. Today the Interior Department has proposed cutting drilling fees and loosening methane pollution requirements, making it cheaper for fossil fuel companies to extract resources from land owned by the American people.

    This is the latest step in the administration’s “drill, baby, drill” agenda, which has focused on expanding drilling and mining while rolling back environmental safeguards and conservation efforts. Public lands should be protected for future generations, not handed over to fossil fuel companies with fewer rules and lower costs.

    BREAKING: Mass firings have reportedly begun at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence after acting DNI Bill Pulte launched a sweeping effort to shrink the agency.

    According to CNN, offices were ordered to rank employees ahead of the cuts, with the National Counterterrorism Center and the National Counterintelligence and Security Center expected to be among the hardest hit. A source familiar with the matter described the move by saying, "The deep state firings have begun."

    The layoffs come just days after Pulte, who was appointed by Donald Trump on an acting basis, reportedly arrived at the agency early and requested a list of every employee. Trump had publicly instructed Pulte to carry out an immediate downsizing of the office.

    Top Democrats on the House and Senate Intelligence Committees are warning that the cuts could undermine the agency's ability to protect national security, arguing that ODNI was created after the September 11 attacks to improve coordination across the intelligence community and help prevent future terrorist attacks. They also questioned whether an acting director should be making such sweeping structural changes without consulting Congress.

    i heard about the earthquake in venezuela this morning. the videos are horrific.
