Ugh. I have to start a new job. My current position was eliminated yesterday (all kinds of crazy reasons, long story, but basically a long series of bad decisions combined with budgetary issues). Thank goodness, I work in a good union, and I'll be going through an involuntary transfer process, and get paid in the meantime, so I'm not out of a job. But I'm really upset about having to leave the people I work with, many of whom are good friends, and who I've worked with for years and years. I'm definitely in a real grieving process right now. Sucks. Stressful. Apprehensive about where I'm going to land, and with who. I hope it doesn't suck. Could be a lot worse obviously - most people would just be out of a job altogether, and that would a complete disaster, so I'm grateful I'm not in that position.
    Well, this SUCKS!

You were at that job for how many years?

HOPE it works out well for you, A.

Thanks Jim! I was there, in various roles, for 24 years!!! I don't even know how I function elsewhere, or if I do. I guess I'll soon find out!

My portable grill came just a moment ago. I briefly set it up in my kitchen on a counter space just to see if I could quickly & easily assemble it. So far I am not disappointed.  :)

Brief, warm but not very detailed recollections of old times with a no longer living relative from many several years ago.
