I fully intend to pace myself Friday and Saturday, so I am somewhat not a walking corpse on Sunday and have a chance to get myself a decent spot for PJ. Knowing myself, pacing myself will be out the window by 12:01pm Friday and I will be popping Advil all weekend. Will they sell canes at merch?Shaindli1 said:
It’s not just the waiting. It’s the sitting in the sun all day and carefully calculate when to go pee or how much water to drink.TenDays said:
This might be the right call. I'm not sure I'm cut out for waiting for hours.RatherStarved said:
I’m not your problem if that’s the case. I’ll go no earlier than 5pm on Friday or 3pm on Sunday. Middle of lawn situation.TenDays said:
It is. I need some room close to the front 🤭RatherStarved said:
I saw that too and it has planted a seed of doubt if my Sunday only plan is the right call!Kwieneke said:Email from Tsurt, for those going to Ohana on Friday this year“I can't believe it has been 10 years since the first Ohana Festival in my hometown of Dana Point, California. I love our city and hope you do too.
We started working on the Eddie Vedder and Friends merch a few weeks back, and it has been fun to explore ways to include "the friends" in the merch and to think of new and different items.
As someone who knows a little bit about what is happening at this show, I would highly suggest not missing out on Ed's Friday set. I really think it will be a special one.
Thanks to everyone who has been showing up all of these years. It has been a dream come true having some of the best acts in the world play in my backyard.
See you at the beach.”

One of the reasons I didn’t go to Ohana in 2024 (other than cost) was the sitting in the sun all day. I’m a skin cancer survivor so I have to be extra cautious about my sun exposure. Hence being zealous about SPF.#Grievance20250

I'll make a spreadsheet. I've got 4 months to test and calibrate! Seriously though, I was thinking about going to some music festivals around me, just to test out the experience and see how I do. I probably won't though.Shaindli1 said:

One contrary opinion on festivals that you can take or leave:
I've been going to them pretty consistently for 15 years. Only a couple per year, mostly smaller but some larger. I cannot fathom staking out a spot for a headliner and trying to hold it all day. Festivals are not the ideal way to see a band. The appeal for me is seeing multiple bands, checking out different stages, grabbing some food and checking out what else they offer.
I would be delighted if one or more of my favorite bands, like Pearl Jam, was playing a festival I'm going to. The maximum effort I'd put into getting a good spot is getting as close as I could during the band before them. Maybe you can even wiggle a little closer during the set change. But that is at most. You're missing soooooo much by camping out at one stage all day. Just my two cents.0 -
Riot Fest, Rock In Rio or South America this year????0

Stone seems to be ruling out any shows before Ohana according to an interview on PJ Radio today, no?

Your opinion is very much appreciated. Very good points to consider! It feels like trading 14 hours of misery for two hours of a possibly better experience. OTOH, I could meet some really cool people in line and have a very fun day.pjl44 said:One contrary opinion on festivals that you can take or leave:

Why does it annoy me so much that they can’t just announce the drummer? Why does everything have to be so secretive when it comes to this band? What’s the point?0

At this point they’re just playing with us now😂0

And everyone in time: "They don't owe us anything!"

It's not misery to be at Ohana no matter what. If you want to sit in one spot it's not that bad, this isn't Texas.... it's the beach in OC.0

The contradictory shit they say too. Mike just said in a very recent interview they didnt have a drummer yet. And remember Jeffs comments about the new album being half done and then it came out like two weeks later. I find it frustratingnicknyr15 said:Why does it annoy me so much that they can’t just announce the drummer? Why does everything have to be so secretive when it comes to this band? What’s the point?0
