I was listening to PJ Radio on XM after the Ohana announcement, whoever the host is now (where's Bleetstein, by the way?) was picking some old Ohana tunes and was crowing about RITFW and how it was such a great song and she hoped they played it at this year's Ohana.  All I could do was roll my eyes.
There was a shake up at PJ radio/XM. Bleestein got let go and they are doing away with radio talent. They have pre recorded the band members introduce the songs, more studio recordings, they give SLOATpod guys some air time (terrible choice). The wish list shows are more scripted and are using less fan submissions.

The lady you are referring to is Jessica, she’s a music journalist and a big PJ fan and has a little bit of a social media influencer type thing going on over on IG.

maybe this wasn’t PJ doing per se but most likely were told by Sirius that they needed to find cheaper talent and talent that has a social media presence so you can follow them.

Look I get it some of you were going to too many shows and are burned out. I was there. Planning bathroom breaks, leaving early. Overly focused on what you can skip. Scale it back, go see other bands, keep it fresh.
Are you volunteering on live streaming PEST for the rest of us 🤞

As far as songs being overplayed, remember this. The band is playing to the entire crowd, not just YOU. So the guy next to you might not be at his 57th PJ show. And he may appreciate hearing YL.

DUHHHH... that's why everyone free to like, dislike, stay, go.... my feelings don't affect another person's concert experience... so... again.. you do you and let others do. You will see at Ohana a good chunk of crowd are casual fans

FWIW - everyone has their own experiences and no exact facts ever repeat. I went to Ohana 2024 and loved having the much criticized VIP experience. I was up at the rail all day, we all watched out for each other, the air conditioned, clean bathroom RV things in the back were great. During the day, I visited new found friends in the GA section, ate tons of free food on both the VIP and GA sides, and got there at 10:30 am via free shuttle for VIP and was close to front of line when it opened at 11 am (not sure about exact time), but i did take off in a sprint.

    But, can't predict the future.

Can say this: just go and have fun and don't think you can out think everyone else. You can't. So enjoy yourself and take it all in and store the memories for later

Let go? He's been a treasure for both PJ and the GD channels. (and here on the forum, I believe - miss you, Rob!) I probably won't be listening as much as I used to knowing he's gone. Jessica may be a fan, but RITFW has been done by either Eddie or PJ every. single. ohana, so to act as if 2021 was a rarity or it won't be played this year seems a bit naive.

When the first note of RITFW is played, it’s time to get out of Dodge!
    Yep... that's what I do.
A song I'm really tired of hearing... no loss to me...
I couldn't imagine how any of you got sick of hearing all these classics. And then I started working my way through the 2000 bootlegs. I'm on number 34 now, and I'm starting to get it now 🤭🤭🤭

I might need to abstain from bootlegs for a couple months before the show!
It's a cover song too...I would stay for Fuckin Up though... Much better song to me

Where does the shuttle pick up and depart from for the VIP tickets? How close to Dana Point do we have to be staying in order to have access to those shuttles?

PJ’s version of RITFW is so much better than the original and gets me going every time (and I listen to at least one boot a day).
I’ll take anything: RITFW, Fucking Up, Baba, Baby Shark 😆

in 2024, the shuttle pick-up/drop off location was some unused field - Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park – 30753 La Pata Rd., San Juan Capistrano, CA - I stayed in Mission Viejo, so about 15-20 minutes from that location and about 30 minutes from Doheny State Beach, if memory serves somewhat accurately. In other words, it doesn't matter where you stay. The shuttle began heading to the festival at 10 AM or so, and they were prompt. The shuttle is the same one that GA folks pay for - it is just part of the VIP cost. Or so were the facts in 2024.

Hey Baby Shark is the anthem of the 2019 WS winning Washington Nationals. No Cubs fan should think about singing that song in his right mind. I wouldn't mind but it is a nod and therefore a no-no to the "wrong" team.

That seems useful if you are staying in Mission Viejo, or live in California and can drive there. But if you are staying anywhere else, like Laguna Beach or San Clemente, and don't have a car, what's the point?

Search free trolley online and name of coastal place, download app tracker, wait for fall schedule, and transfer to Dana Point, and you are there
