You know, I never said that. I said, “I’ve never seen you looser.”

This is for sure an off year.
We can close the book on 2026, let them enjoy the break and wait for 2027.
I also think we're not going to get any live shows before the fall of 2027.
For PJ, more than likely you are right. For a solo EV tour, there is still a chance.
Got my dark horse wager / fantasy on a drummerless acoustic tour. 4-5 shows.
I absolutely love what the drums add to the music, but I guarantee I would also love this kind of show. Do it, PJ!! ❤️

Or just JK on some bongo-stuff or small percussion. I mean you want some sort of beat i guess..
100% would on board with that too

They need to go '78 KISS and release 4 solo albums simultaneously with their headshots on the covers. Take it on the road...each gets 30 minutes then they jam together for an encore.

Appreciate this link. May be the most concrete thing I've seen about the drummer status or lack of any.

Here are some quotes from Mike

“I think I’m kind of done with the break. I would love to get out and play again, you know. … I’m ready to go out again whenever, you know, or start working on another record. We’ve just got to find a new drummer, you know? We don’t have one.”

“We’re in the process of just talking about it, and figuring out what our next move is. … I don’t have anything concrete to tell you, because I don’t know right now. … We move very, very slowly, and then when something happens, we move quickly. So, right now, we’re kind of in our slow phase, like our Jurassic.”

“If and when we finally get a drummer, we’re gonna all get in a room together and just start creating new stuff.”

Jonathan Cohen interviewed Josh recently about his new record, and asked:

JC: If in some universe they asked you to play drums, would you do it?

JK: In a heartbeat. It would be the fulfillment of my dreams. The sad fact is that I don’t play enough drums these days to at least appear like I’ve got it under control. I did one full show and a smattering of other ones. For the record, I’d do it before you could even finish the question.

    No, thank you.
    Why not?
    He's not a drummer.
Anyone who can play drums is a drummer. You’re not limited to only one instrument.
No offense to any drummers here but I’d rather see a true drummer step in after all we’ve been watching Matt fucking Cameron for 30 years!
Drums were his first instrument and he started playing at 9. Not sure what people here consider a drummer or not.

I play drums. MC is one of my favorite drummers ever.

And Pearl Jam’s music isn’t that complicated to play on drums. MC is capable of playing way harder stuff like he did with Soundgarden. Pearl Jam basically comes down to energy and stamina. Especially if they go back to longer sets.
Well longer sets are a thing of the past with this band even with a new drummer, Josh himself says he’s not sure of his drumming abilities but I’m sure with practice he could def do the job
Yeah the days of 30 plus song sets are gone it seems, even Ed's solo shows in Japan were much shorter than years gone by.
Eh...these were 22-24 songs and the shows I saw in 2008-2011 were 24-26 songs. Close enough it seems. Maybe the Earthlings shows were longer?
The shows in 2017 were more 30(London)-33 songs (Dublin) - and included tracks that generally ran for a good period - comeback, black, rocking in the free world, etc......Not I'm open which likely takes around a minute or two.

One of the Japan shows came in at 1hr 40 mins......That is a good 50 minutes plus less than 9 years ago.

Its not in any way a criticism - more an acceptance that the days of super long shows are behind us. I don't think any one can realistically complain about an artist who has entered his 60's reigning it in a little bit either. The Bruce Springsteen comparisons are always a little tiresome. Im not sure its reasonable to expect 3 hours from a show, its amazing when it happens, and I'm certainly glad we got those epic shows but they are not going to be the norm going forward imo.

NGL, I'll buy tickets to every show even if all they play is Even Flow over & over again.

To be fair, Bruce has done almost the exact same setlist so far this tour.  It's fine for those who have never seen him (last week was my first show and I knew exactly what to expect), but it's not exactly creative.  In one respect, it's amazing to see people like Nils and Steve rocking as hard as they do, but in another, they're taking intermittent breaks throughout the show while someone else (like Tom) fill in.

Bottom line: I'm glad I saw him finally, but he's not someone I would try to follow for multiple shows.

Same here. I thought it was a great show, great sound, great energy -- may I be doing as well as Bruce is in twenty years!  I am glad we went, in my opinion the show was a solid value despite the expensive tickets. But I wouldn't follow him, or anyone playing the same set every night, for multiple shows on a tour.

Interesting yeah those setlists look pretty stout. I do agree on the larger point and to me yeah 2:15-2:30 with an opener is totally reasonable. 3 hours should be considered a bonus.

Guys, they haven't played 3 hours since, what, 2018?  Time to let the past go.  2:15 is fine with less talking than recent years (hoping that was mainly for Matt). And they can shelve I'm Open as a setlist filler.  Seriously, it's not even really a song, more like a tag. It was lame as hell as one of the four opening songs (let alone the botched Faithfull-mistakes happen, I get it) before Dark Matter tracks at Sacramento. OK, I'm done with being negative. Play more shows!

It's fine in a set, I just don't like it in place of a real song.
