a view from someone in Europe (which 150€ for a ticket is already a lot) im always surprise by how much a concert ticket costs in the US , yes you guys have dynamic pricing (which in most european coutries doesnt happen) but even without that the prices you pay are really really expensive.

+1 - unfortunately, given how difficult of a ticket they are to get, I don't see the prices staying the same whenever they tour again.

I want to see Tool and Metallica once before they are done. I’ve seen most everyone else I really want to see. Heard great things about Billy Strings and may check him out sometime. Since I'm not too familiar, nosebleeds would be fine with me.

Today's prices for mid level acts has taken me out of contention for seeing them. $79 for front row to see Glen Hansard was great. I'd do thay all day long.

my wife and I have totally changed our PJ strategy in recent years, partly because of overall industry ticket price increases. We used to do 6-12 shows per touring cycle and follow them through a region for a 4-5 show run if possible.

But now when they announce a tour, we target a place that we would like to explore that we've never been before, with or without PJ. And we make a short vacation out of it. Most recently Austin and Nashville.

Of course we will always hit the home leaning PNW shows

this is my take as well. Ill pay more for PJ and just limit my going to other shows. to me very little difference between $185 and $250 for a PJ show.

This is the way. I had never been to Nashville before and enjoyed my visit there for the shows last year. Definitely would use this method next time too.

Billy and Goose are $100 or less for the best seats 90% of the time. I got first row next to the stage for Billy at $101 a ticket, Goose is usually the same. AND they live stream videos of their shows every night on nugs. Both acts playing big venues

The Strokes at Red Rocks were $114-$188 this morning but impossible to cart. Actually good pricing for RR…problem is that the first 25 rows are premiums at $350-500

You really should see him, he won't be that far from you ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶s̶u̶m̶m̶e̶r̶ in a couple of weeks. Some bands put on a show, some put on an event. Billy puts on an event, there's not much like it out there these days. When I was younger I listened to a little country and bluegrass, but he's just a whole 'nother level.

Yeah would love to catch Metallica one more time but their prices this year were insane, and the fact they were sold in two day packages in London only, meaning a commitment to a weekday show was included with a day between the shows made it a no go for me.

Friends of mine are travelling much further and seeing Metallica in Cardiff - where they are only playing one night - for exactly this reason. If you don’t live or work in London then 2 nights, with the prices they charge and a night off in between increasing the travel costs, is too much of a commitment for all but the hardcore fans.

I should have done Cardiff but I dont think its a weekend and my son (15) is desperate to see them so school would have made it pretty much impossible. So i thought about a family trip to Vegas and make a holiday out of it but man those tickets out there are nigh on impossible to find and ludicrously pricey. Maybe Metallica play Download one more time before they retire. Only an hour from my front door and day tickets are still sort of sensible

As far as a standard tour goes, for me, PJ is the only band for which I'd travel and/or pay an elevated ticket price, and even then, it would depend on the travel and how elevated. Having finally seen them in Seattle 2 years ago, I don't know if I'd travel that far again to see them.

These days, if my Mount Rushmores (PJ. The Pumpkins, Metallica, The Strokes) come to the NY area, I'll absolutely see them.

I saw Uncle Neil live for the first time 2 years ago, so I can cross him off my list. Not dying to see anyone else. I could be talked into seeing my lovey, St. Vincent, or someone PJ-adjacent (Glen, Josh). But I've also been there, done that, along with Bruce solo & with E Street, The Who & Roger/Pete solo, U2, Billy Joel. No real need to see them again.

I've never seen McCartney or Dylan. I'd have to think about them, and maybe sell a kidney lol.

I'm also planning a bachelor party for late summer/fall, and looking at either GNR or AC/DC at Met Life. Never seen either one. GNR was the first band I really loved, before PJ, and I really like AC/DC, but if I don't see either, I won't be bothered by it.

No Ty to shows anymore. Grateful to have seen Hundred and from all my favorite bands. Just on principle alone I can’t support that industry. Plus the fact that human behavior at concerts has seemed to hit an all time low, I’m good.

I am going to see Mr. Apostle this Saturday in Charlottesville for the first time, and I have to say one of the big reasons is bc of the ++++ comments on this thread. My friend has seen him @ the past 2 Halloween shows in B'more and said great things as well. He will be one section over from me, bc i just bought the ticket. The weirdest part for me is that I don't know his music, and he varies the covers he plays so often, so I am looking at it as a great adventure. If anyone here is going to the show, pls DM me!

You don't need to know any of his music. Just go and enjoy the show. Oddly enough, it won't seem like you're going to a bluegrass show at all. There'll be an abundance of tie-dye and hippie buses.
Outdoor merch usually opens around 4-4:30p. If you're going to partake, you should be there by at least 2:30p. But the line is always a very festive atmosphere. At least at the shows I've gone to.
