So when I got mine done professionally 20 years ago ( cant believe its been that long), they glued the poster to a hard cardboard surface before framing it. At the time I didn't care, but then I realized it kind of ruined the poster itself. You can't roll it, or store it outside the frame. It's just got this hard back to it.Kwieneke said:what exactly is the harm with poster board?Post edited by JG242853 onRandall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250 -

I used a cardboard presentation board with paper on both sides of the poster and some weight on the top. I find if its too rolled then its tough to get it into the 24x18 portfolio case.mcgruff10 said:What a the best way to get a poster flat after it s been in a tube for a long time?0 -

Yep...I had no idea in 1997 that it was a negative to get it mounted on poster board...hell the quy in the framing shop didn't even present me with another option...still looks great in the frame, but I know--damnit, I know--and it bugs me just a little when I look at it...JG242853 said:

2 different members are NOT CHECKING MESSAGES about posters they want to sell. What's the point of saying you want to sell and not following through....0

Have they been active on the site since you sent? Not everyone has notifications turned on.gotthebottle said:2 different members are NOT CHECKING MESSAGES about posters they want to sell. What's the point of saying you want to sell and not following through....0 -

Often times, I believe people let offers roll in and start sorting from the highest offer. If they sell, they often decide to never reply.gotthebottle said:

I have reverse rolled mine and stored in the tube for a day or two that way. Then lay it on a flat surface with some weights around it.mcgruff10 said:What a the best way to get a poster flat after it s been in a tube for a long time?
I'm sure there is likely a way to steam iron on an extremely low setting but I'd leave that to the pros if it is even a thing."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0 -
