Last night Paul McCartney did a private corporate show for Apple.
I'm side-eyeing him because there's nothing ethical about Apple's business practices and yet he flaunted this on his social media, photo with Tim Cook included.
Say what you will about Ed's private shows, he's not flaunting it and I also don't think he'd play for Tim Cook. Also he gives a lot of that money to EB.
I mean the whole band played for Oracle
Let's stop putting band on higher pedestal....corporate shows go on.. like it or not

Agreed was just offering up the point as I don't see a major difference between Apple and Oracle who just laid off 30K employees in a crappy way.

    SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5
    Mexico=1, Colombia=1

The band signed a poster for me just prior to the Oracle gig so one hand washes the other.

Just realized that was 14 years ago. Wow.

The older I get, the list of things I would never do for money grows smaller and smaller! On the one hand, I know that money and possessions aren't important, but on the other hand, my morals have become so loose that I'd do a lot of things for some extra cash or other benefits 🤣

Let me give a safe example (safe because no one has ever come within 100 miles of offering this option to me). In my younger years, I heard about women "sleeping their way to the top" at work. I was horrified by the thought - the poor sexual morals someone would have, the way it would give women a bad name, etc. Now, my thought process is more like "so I don't have to work myself to death every day, I might even have fun in the process, he has fun, and then my career benefits?? Where do I sign up??!"

Not sure if you’ve ever seen the movie The Great Outdoors. John Candy, Dan Akroyd. Classic. My buddy’s brother says one day, “As you get older - do you feel you’re more like Chet, Or more like Roman?”

    definitely Roman lol

IMHO, I think if what happened last night at Bruce's show would have happened during a PJ show, Ed would have stopped the show.

So, I was there -- and I had no idea that anything had happened. On our way to the car, two guys were talking about EMTs doing CPR on someone for the duration of several songs; it wasn't even clear to me that they were discussing last night's show. Now I see that rumor is that the person died, which is terrible.

I think it's possible that people onstage didn't know what was happening. We were side stage, about seven rows up. I could see security handing water bottles to people on the rail, but beyond that I noticed nothing unusual.

Each band would have their own protocol. Ed likes to be on top of things and know what's happening in the audience the whole show. Perhaps it's not the same for Bruce.

I'll add that there is a lot of criticism of venue staff, both generally (concert start was delayed because getting into the building was such a clusterfuck) and with regard to this emergency. People on reddit who say they were in the same row as the person who fell ill specifically criticized how long it took EMS to arrive and the fact that lights were not turned on so EMS could see what they were doing.

You know they changed the name from $100,000 bar to Hundred Grand?

Stop with the WWED (WHAT WOULD ED DO) ... what purpose does it serve to guess what might have happened at a different place? Why compare those 2 things? This is insane... we have ALL been to shows that Ed stops.. in fact I haven't been to a show he HASN'T stopped for something in a decade. But do not act like you know what was going on in Portland from the band perspective....

Pretty sure Bruce would have stopped the show if he knew.  Seems it was 200 level behind the stage.
