Rising Appalachia’s forthcoming album, Trade Your Troubles, is a soft light glowing from a quieter, more introspective time. It features songs that celebrate rest, restoring your spirit after burnout, and replenishing yourself in the wilds and in tradition. The generous 16-song record is bookended by a traditional Irish traveller song and an Appalachian fiddle tune, both nods to their ancestral lineages. In between, there are songs about motherhood, moonlight, heartbreak and birdsong. “The album tilts towards our inner experiences,” Chloe reflects. “I wanted to write about love and how it expanded and broke open in new ways after I became a mother.” Due out in October 2026, Trade Your Troubles features special guests Aoife O’Donovan, Ayla Nereo, Bonnie Paine, and Brittany Haas.

We’re heading into a short run of Southeast shows this spring, and truly would love to see you there.

These gatherings feel especially meaningful, as they’ll be some of our last before Chloe steps into mama time this summer. Yes… a new little band member is on the way, and we’re soaking up these moments on the road while we can.

So if you’ve been thinking about coming to a show, this is the moment. A handful of nights to sing, sway, and be together before we take a pause from touring.

We’ll have a few more offerings later this year, and new music on the horizon, but for now it’s about these springtime gatherings and the beauty of being in the same room again.

The Sanctuary Summit Festival— April 18

Sanctuary Summit is one we hold close, and we’re grateful to be back this year as a full band.

It takes place on the land of The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee, a long-standing intentional community with deep roots. This gathering was founded by our bandmate Biko Casini, who grew up on the land, and it carries that sense of history, relationship, and care.

It’s a weekend of music, learning, and being together, with a focus on community, land stewardship, and intergenerational connection.

We’ll also be sharing as Starling Arrow, which makes it all the more special.

New little band member is on the way

Spring feels like a fertile time to share that baby #2 will be joining us earth side this summer. Becoming a parent is the entire gauntlet of things: a privilege and a prayer, a passing down of traditions, a full circle, the whispers of your ancestors, a unrivaled sweetness, the psychedelic work of soul and spirit, the ultimate guardianship, a merging of two beloveds into a legacy. It’s is also, simultaneously because life is not monochrome, an ego death, a massive toll on the body, sleepless nights and tantrum days, and challenging in modernity’s individuation and pace.

Now that I am a parent to my beloved wildling son I know the ropes a little bit. What’s ahead (perhaps!). My body’s innate wisdom and knowledge of growing and bring forth new life. The beauty that unexpectedly cracks you open 10 fold. One of the reasons I am on this path again because of the sheer dynamic steadfastness of my sweetheart Drew Fyfe, and our capacity to do life together. It takes equal parts humor- invention- hope- magic- and realism and it’s honestly a true pleasure to do it side by side.

So cheers to the life bearers and everyone that is on a fertility journey.
We welcome blessings of strength and stamina from afar….
it truly takes a whole damn village.

Was just talking with my wife about going to the show. Checking our calendars to make sure it works. Athens is about 50 minutes from my house so would be a long night, but we can swing it!

Great show! They played a new song, some old standards, and some of their originals. Their voices sounded incredible and the two guys in the band killed it.
