So jealous of the handful of Padova posters that are showing up!  One I was at that wasn't able to get at the show or from the 10c.

Kind of regret not jumping on the shirt from Slater when it was available in a larger size

Second and final poster tube arrived a few days ago but some family stuff took precedence. And then this post turned out to be much longer than intended, so feel free to skip to the posters picture to see what I got.

Here’s the scoop on tube 2. No autographs, which would have been kind of a miracle.

[Warning: Incredibly long sidetrack paragraph begins here]

Also no Kansas City posters, which I’m starting to think would be an even bigger miracle than autographs since I don’t think I’ve ever seen a KC show in a Mystery Poster sale. I’ve been to every KC area concert since 1998 with 10 Club tickets (although in 1998 they weren’t in my name), which, unbelievably, is only 4 shows. I’ve previously told the sad story of the 1998 poster. In 2000 I had a PJ travel buddy, so we used her tickets for STL and mine the very next night for Bonner Springs, KS. We both taught high school, so we left right after school for STL. She took next day off, I was saving sick days for when I would need them for my kids. So after getting home from STL, I slept for approximately 45 minutes, went to school and taught all day, and then headed out to Bonner Springs, KS, for night 2! If there was a show specific poster that night I don’t remember it, but I was pretty sleep deprived. Next “KC” PJ show was in 2003, also in Bonner Springs. Very cool poster with a Wizard of Oz theme, one of my favorite movies, but there was a deluge of biblical proportions that night at an outdoor show so no poster for me. Saw a STL VFC show in 2004 with another local friend, but after that my PJ travel buddies moved away.  STL is pushing 4 hours by car and not really an option driving by myself there and back. Unfortunately for me, this roughly coincided with dearth of PJ shows in the KC area, the next and so far final one occurring in 2010. This one was extra special because I got to take my daughter to her first PJ show, and she was very impressed with our 13th row 10 Club seats! I didn’t want a poster to concern/distract me during the show, but it was a mistake to wait until after the show. If we get another KC concert, you know I’ll be buying that poster first thing!

    [Incredibly long sidetrack over]

But back to the subject at hand, tube 2! All posters are from 2024, and I was hoping to get at least one older one. But putting that aside, this second tube was more to my preferences than the first tube, so that’s a win! I like the somewhat psychedelic looking Wrigley; psychedelic was the style when I was a kid! Really happy with the London with the Monty Python reference (with a line from the movie on the back in case you missed it). Reminds me of my two best friends in high school and our love for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, both guys taken far, far too early. As for the other Chicago poster, that zombie looking deer kind of creeps me out. But hey, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad!

Like all Mystery sales, the anticipation of something good and potentially great on the way was a nice distraction from some of the less pleasant things in life. And as always, I love seeing everyone else post and comment about the posters received, and it’s great to see the excitement when he/she gets something long desired, whether that’s autographs, a specific show, or a really cool “grail” poster. So my current Mystery story is now complete, but trust I’ll keep reading to see how everyone else’s ends!

I have that one hanging in my office!  One of my favorite posters. Such a fun night in the rain in nose bleed seats!  Happy hunting!

Was that when they opened for the Stones? One tour, likely prior to this RS were going to ride elephants to the stage. Something went wrong with that, but the place still smelled like a zoo. (I feel sorry for the elephants anyway)
J Geils Band was opening that tour. Just read Peter Wolf's book. That's where I heard it! Great book too.

Yeah, Stones tour and I was there on the 18th. Didn’t even look at the merch stand, could’ve gotten this poster for $10.  Anyway, great night and got some Yield previews!

Awesome. Yes. Back then merch and posters were easily walked past. Now...a lot different.

I was ALSO there on the 18th, and this is ALSO my white whale! I just remember the rain, was crazy. I bought a shirt and stocking cap, carrying around a soaking wet poster was not high on my priority list

Mystery tube arrived in the U.K. today and I’m really pleased with all three prints. And definitely makes up for the disappointment with the repeats in my earlier tubes. The Transformers is fantastic and I’m really pleased to get a copy of the Vienna (I had an AP copy of this already but it had a tear, so I now have a mint condition replacement). Thanks 10c for running this exciting sale!

Can anyone recommend a poster portfolio? I think I m done framing but wouldn’t mind keeping a few posters in some sort of protective binder.   Thanks!
