I like putting it back on the best driver, not the best car. It sounds to me more like Indy car with a "power button" to be used anywhere as opposed to the DRS zones.1996: Toronto

Drive to Survive new season started to today. Curious if there is any insight to Horner's departure.0

Here in Canada you can get TSN (which also gives you some other sports, some team-specific (I can watch the Montreal Canadiens games for example, which is my team) or F1 TV. TSN is more expensive and not 4k, F1 TV is 4k but only F1 and I'd need a Roku/Chromecast/Firestick to watch as the app inexplicable is not widely available.Get_Right said:The new cars appear to be much slower than the 2025 cars as lap times in Bahrain were 4-6 seconds slower than 2025 lap times. That is a huge drop off. There are changes to the dimensions, engines and aero. The front wing is now adjustable and it appears that there is no DRS zone and the drivers can open and close both the front and rear wings while racing. I will watch the tests this week and see how the lap times compare.
Despite not being 4k I am leaning towards TSN at the moment.0 -
They need to be fairly strategic about where they use the overtake too because it uses up the battery power, so if they just use it without thinking ahead they'll immediately be overtaken by the car they just passed.erebus said:I like putting it back on the best driver, not the best car. I am not booking any Grand Prix trips this year until I see how this all plays out. Smaller and slower cars. What genius made that decision? While I love the spectacle of a Grand Prix weekend, I do not want slower cars. Maybe it is so Netflix can get better film shots.0

I get what you are saying, but the cars were getting too big, leading to less passing on tracks that were too small. One of them had to change. No wonder the other teams did not want to let more cars come in.
i thought last year was great with 3 drivers in contention until the end and most teams were improved at the lower end.
lets see what happens with the new changes1996: Toronto

When DRS was introduced, there were many analysts who thought a driver would use DRS to overtake, only to be overtaken on the next lap by the driver they just passed. This turned out to be completely unfounded.Get_Right said:I am not booking any Grand Prix trips this year until I see how this all plays out. Smaller and slower cars. What genius made that decision? So we'll just have to see how these new regulations play out. I'm not too concerned with a reduction in speed. You won't be able to process it in real time other than by looking at lap times.0 -
I hear you guys and of course I will still watch. But I am one of those geeks that watches the races with two Ipads. One with live timing and one with last year's times. Perhaps this year I will put down the timing for the first few races. Maybe grab a beer or a shot whenever I hear an announcer say "sector time." Not long to go and looking forward to it!

I think they will be fine for the first three rounds, but you are right. Not sure I would bring my billion dollar show to Saudi or Bahrain right now.0 -
Rumor going around that Aston Martin will drop out of Australian GP.0

Apparently, it's the Honda engine. It's vibrating so badly it's destroying the battery if they go full power.0

Excited for the new season. Seems to be some noise around the early Middle Eastern races.0

The Mercedes looked good in qualifying, even if Kimi did his best to wreck the car! I thought Oscar and Lando would be better.

Will be an interesting season.
I think Kimi will take a grid drop.
My hope for the Championship is for Piastri.
Will also cheer for Hadjar. Impressive debut for Lindblad.
Please, no championship for Russell, do not care for him at all.Post edited by erebus on1996: Toronto
