Leash. God, I absolutely love this song. So Freeing. This was the first song that really grabed me ten or twelve years ago when I first heard VS.. Today I was listening to an old import that I hadn't heard in years, and a live version of Leash came blaring through the speakers. Wow. So damn powerful. I hadn't listened to Leash in quite some time(especially live) and it was like new to me again. DROP THE LEASH! WE ARE YOUNG! So many great songs on VS. and this one takes the cake for me. What is your Fav.?

  • Directly from the album, mine would be Go with that amazing, but so simplistic opening. Live, mine would be Animal cause it so hard and meaningful.
Life reveals what is dealt through seasons
    Circle comes around each time
  • Although I like Go pretty much, Indifference it's my Vs. song....

Such an emotional song to me, with a very sad lyric...

How much difference, does it make?!

For me, it's a set of five

RVM Rats WMA Glorified G and Elderly Woman.
Rats slightly above the rest these days...

Everyone has mentioned a different song so far. What an incredible album :)
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

    it's me favorite pj album..

    i like dissident
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

probably my favorite album when i think about it - there's not a lame song on it. animal/blood/go/rearviewmirror/small town/daughter/dissident/leash..yeah, the album kicks ass. probably small town, animal, or blood though. all have their specials places in my heart. ;)

  • Man...the only two songs I can't really get into on that album are WMA and Blood...not to say I don't like them, I just like every other song SO MUCH.

The song I've been listening the most to on that album recently has been Glorified G, because I wasn't a big fan of it when I first got VS (not enough radio play? I was a PJ noob at the time...), but lately I've realized how kicking it really is -- the solo is awesome, and the blending of the two choruses at the end is sweet. I especially love listening to it while at the shooting range...lol...big fan of Pearl Jam's music, but that's about it :)

But if I objectively had to name the BEST song...Animal has to be it...I mean, I think it's one of PJ's most intense songs, while still maintaining the PJ sound that makes them the greatest band ever. Of course, I've heard to so many times now I try to give it a break once in a while...but really short breaks :)

It's been real, and it's been fun -- but it hasn't been real fun.

I pretty much love 'rats'. It's always appealed to me. that bluesy rhythm and the sneering sarcasm that's echoed in the lyrics. It's just fantastic.

A close second would perhaps be W.M.A - one of the most powerful and moving songs the band has ever produced in my opinion!

All the responces to this thread are really interesting. I love the diversity that Vs. brings to the table, everything from all out hard rock to soft, interspective songs. It is just damn good. Until I joined this forum a few months ago I often looked passed Vs. choosing TEN, No Code, Yield or whatever to listen to. Since then I would have to say Vs. might be my fav album. Unbelieveable. The only song I have never been able to really get into is Blood, and that is even a good song. PJ fuckin rocks!

Thats tough. I guess I will just have to put my top 3, (no order) Leash, Indifference, Reviewmirror. Another of my of favorites is Dissdent, I don't think that song gets enough credit.

Since it's PJ's best album, every song is great...but RVM tops it, followed by Indifference.

It usually depends on my mood as to what song I'm in from it, but I would say that RVM is my favorite. I'm also a big fan of Indifference and W.M.A.

DROP THE LEASH, WE ARE YOUNG, DROP THE LEASH, WE ARE YOUNG!

go eat an animals dissident daughter's rats while you wipe the blood off the leash which came from the glorified gun bought from an elderly woman behind the counter at a small town, an altho you see a WMA in your rearview mirror it is an indifference

haha i couldnt help myself, i love VS.
