I was reading this about someone being a frat boy.  The leader of the FBI acting like a jackass as if HE won the gold?  Dear lord man.  I'm glad I didn't see that when it did happen.
Acting as if he had played in the game total embarrassment! But I’m not a rahhh rahhh yeah American patriot anymore so my take is skewed
It’s just as annoying when celebrities are in the locker room celebrating. Like they’re part of the team.

I was disappointed/happy that Nike (Fanatics?) didn’t think the USA was going to win and didn’t have any jerseys available.  Just think about how much money they could have made right after the game …. Even if they had a “out-of-stock / wait time until available” option, people would have ordered them.

Saved me $300 for a jersey that probably cost $9 to make.  I’m too old to buy jerseys anyway.

Not Fanatics but Nike.  If they didn't make extras I wonder if they did for another country?

Same. I start watching when the playoffs start for football and hockey. I find the NBA completely unwatchable. I will watch a premier league football match if it is on early in the morning. I like that they have no commercials during play. They only thing I really follow is Formula One. I know it has changed but I started watching and going to Grand Prix in 1999.

I don't know ... were not the super thin MLB jerseys a few years back supposedly made by Nike, but really were being made by Fanatics with a Swoosh added.  I would not be surprised at all if there is one large manufacturing facility that is making all the clothing and the companies like Nike and Adidas just license them to make.  Guitar companies do this so why not clothing?

Whoever is making it, they are share one common trait ... low quality garbage.

Just check the tag. Made in China, Indonesia or Vietnam, the quality is probably not great.

Coming from an American…it was an unbelievable game, moment and gold medal performance that hasn’t happened in 46 years. I hate that it is being politicized under a fucking microscope and some people aren’t happy. Cant we just enjoy an amazing victory and celebration?   Anyway, congrats to the USA mens and women’s hockey teams for bringing home the gold
    No. Not allowed.

I agree with everything you said. I’m still in shock from what I witnessed. I’m a die hard rangers fan but Hughes will forever be a favorite player of mine going forward. The way he handled himself on and off the ice is great to witness.
He’s awesome!  I’m a Blues fan but just a hockey fan in general and Hughes is now one of my favorites going forward as well.  He seems to be an awesome kid.

As far as celebs and n the locker room…I just don’t care. We don’t actually know the circumstances of how/why they got in. It could be EV (who I obviously like) or Kash Patel (who I don’t care for) but it doesn’t affect my enjoyment either way. Seems like at some point they just turn into a fan and dudes being dudes celebrating with the team.

yeah, it's unfortunate that the suffering of real people is getting in the way of your entertainment.

athletes are getting death threats for merely saying they are having a tough time representing their country.

their president was openly calling for them to be banned from competing for speaking their minds.

it's only being politicized because the fascist in chief is making it political.

this reminds me of a recent UFC fight. This meathead Sean Strickland won his fight, so he had a post fight presser. He went off on a rant that was so racist and misogynistic, they actually cut his mic off.

later on, they asked UFC owner Dana White about it: his response? "cuz you guys in the media keep asking him dumb questions". Blamed the media.

you see what ordinary people are up against? billionaires with massive platforms actively blaming the victims/passive participants.

pull your pants up. your privilege is showing.
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer

Cash being in there celebrating, sure it's a little odd. But I don't get all the hate towards the players, and the amount of attention Cash has received for it. They won gold, let them celebrate how they want. Not that big of a deal.

They all laughed when Trump made fun of the Women's team and on that phone call, someone yelled "Close the northern border!"

Its easy not to like those guys.  Every single one of them came from ultra-privileged backgrounds.  I have never liked USA hockey because since I have been a kid, those players always held an aura of douchbaggery.  Tage Thompson wearing a MAGA hat isnt a great look.  Its pretty easy to look politically asexual.  It isn't under a microscope, these guys willingly and clearly allowed this to be used politically.

Now Tkachuk has to explain to people in Ottawa that he didnt endorse an AI video from the White House that shows Tkachuk disparaging Canadians.  Its all gross.

I had to quit playing hockey as a junior in high school because it was expensive for my family. We are talking $3000 - $5000 a year in the 80s. I can only imagine what it costs now. But I do miss those 4 am donuts cinnamon rolls and coffee with my dad.

It was about 10K in the late 90s, probably more like 15K now. That’s for registration, tournaments, not including hockey schools and private training, equipment is crazy expensive now too. $500 sticks, $1500 skates, etc

Its expensive based on level of play, really.  The kind of world these players lived in as kids exceeds that, often moving around the country just for hockey.

The Anaheim jr ducks in my son's age group travels east for games and tournaments multiple times every month.  I would bet those people are nudging 6 figures per season

I was offered a position on the Hartford Junior Whalers back in the day. It was $5500 plus the three different uniforms you had to buy. And that was the 80s. I would not be surprised if the top private hockey clubs cost 25K or more. Plus travel and gear. Even when my daughter was 10 her private soccer club was 6k. Thankfully, she quit!
