The Time I Met Jeff

I may have posted this a long time ago, but since we are at the time of year when the NFL conference championships take place, I am reminded of the story.

It was 1993 and I was living in West Hollywood.  There was a 7-11 a few blocks from my apartment, and on a random Saturday morning, I wanted some food for breakfast.
I was walking to 7-11 and there was a Nike store on the way.  I saw Jeff outside of the Nike store, and I took it upon myself to say hello.  He told me he was in town for a few days and was going up to San Francisco for the NFC championship game.  I don't recall what else we discussed and I was soon on my way to 7-11.

On the way back, I saw Jeff exiting the Nike store.  I had recently purchased 2 of the Kozik Soundgarden/PJ posters, and since I was a block away from home, I asked Jeff if he would wait a few minutes while I ran home and fetched the posters for him to sign.

Jeff suggested that he give me a ride home to make it easier.  We got into his rental car and made the quick ride to my street.  He waited in the car while I got the posters for him to sign.

That's my story.....difficult to believe it was 33 years ago!

Your timeline fits, as the rest of the band would soon congregate just north of SF at The Site to make Vs.

Met Jeff after a three fish and talked for him for about ten minutes   Drank Heinekens together.   Was such a nice guy, totally down to earth.  Awesome story op.

Cool story. I can't see that happening now, but I would love to be wrong.

Very cool, I met him after and RNDM concert and had him sign my Philly Spectrum 4 poster, unfortunately in a time of financial issues I had to sell. Just today my new Philly Spectrum 4 poster was delivered. Maybe one day I can get this one signed for good :)

What I want to know is, was it the Green Lady or the Pink Lady?

I definitely enjoyed talking to Jeff more than Eddie. Eddie was definitely skittish (as one would expect) and Jeff was just really down to earth, like talking to one of your buddies.

I agree I had a 10 mins conversation alone at an airport with Jeff.  It was like talking to an old friend
