I don't recall the original post. Was it a response to the Juggler? If so, he is referred to by many of us here as "Juggs". And that would lead to me to 2 possibilities.mickeyrat said:
What do you make of the last sentance in the post of his I quoted?HughFreakingDillon said:
not every time someone gets a timeout it's a result of someone flagging a post. the mods do peruse the forums and take action on their own. I'd say flagging is quite rare here, actually.Lerxst1992 said:mickeyrat said:Lerxst1992 said:mickeyrat said:

My guess is he/she wants everyone to quote posts we want to show a reaction to so we can all scroll more.Tim Simmons said:
So what is it that you want?Lerxst1992 said:darwinstheory said:
I've also posted that comment about adding a "like" in other areas of the forums (i.e. Porch and AET). It doesn't apply only to AMT. I seldom venture into AMT. Adding such a function wouldn't be limited only to "likes" either. Maybe angry, confused, laughs and some other reactions.Lerxst1992 said:Tim Simmons said:Liberal band with a predominantly liberal fanbase has a predominantly liberal message board. stop the presses we have an echo chamber and people can’t have alternative viewpoints EVER!The point was about the usefulness of a “like” function on a one sided political forum, but go ahead and continue to mock a commenter that dares to disagree with you. And I doubt you get much disagreement on your views here EVER!Since you’re expressing a deep need for conformation bias, I suggest Reddit. It’s very good at that, and every one of your comments gets voted on!!!!
Point is, I think adding such a function would clean up a lot of slop that we read/search/scroll through on these forums. I read his comment and I liked it. I wanted to let him know I liked it. I did not need to elaborate further on his comment. But, these forums being as they are, to do so, I had to add a post. It would be a cleaner look for all of us if I simply could have a reaction button and clicked 👍 or 🤣. My reaction to his post was not intended to trigger anyone by suggesting a potential improvement to an antiquated message board system.
Capiche?I get it. Where this originated, they went after an actual righty who dared to appear here with a cute little put down and you want that thumbs up there. I get that conservative comment wasn’t exactly high brow, but it’s not like anyone is looking balanced or reasonable debate here, whether we are discussing far left politics or a fair way to sell or buy tickets.
Or maybe it is as simple as some people like to have a higher number of posts in their profile and adding a reaction function would reduce the need for some posts. I don't know.
As with my thoughts on the lengthy post from Brian this morning - I would have been happy to "like" it to acknowledge I enjoyed the post. Instead, to show my appreciation, I had to quote it and now it's more scrolling for everyone.
What, all of a sudden somehow forgot where the flag link is? Are you able to sit yet? I got an extra pillow if you need.
If someone is making an aggressive counterattack that crosses into ad hominem behavior, it would seem the courageous thing to do would be to use the quote function, since you decided to interject here. I don’t think many are here for courage, however. Can you see just for a fucking moment that that without any context what so ever how that statement in your post doesnt strike folks as overtly fucking racist?you seem to be under a delusion that everyone here is a fan of hockey, follows your specfic teams and would know , according to wiki, an canadian announcers childhood nickname?get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.Eh, it was his professional name and how he is honored in the Hockey Hall of Fame, Broadcaster category. I wouldn’t expect anyone to know that, but I also wouldn’t expect for someone to complain to authority it was somehow offensive and warranted filling out a report similar to the picture above you provided here in an attempt to belittle me.
so I’m guessing you don’t find it ironic making that attack, asking me if I’m an idiot, prude, crybaby or if my butt hole hurts, and what’s offensive is I asked if you forgot when the flag link is. A joke. Go figure.
When you make a joke it’s funny. When I do I get cursed out and it’s AMT as usual.
A. It was a typo as the I and U key are next to each other.
2. It was a mocking of the "Juggs" nickname.
Considering the source, I'd venture it was option 2. Whether it was intended with racism or not I can't say.
And if the response was not directed at Juggs, then wipe out my whole post. As I said, don't recall (or know that I saw) the original post.
if juggler is still a member he no longer posts, nor was he a part of the mamdani conversation._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

Honestly I didnt mind the ban. It made me confront the reason for being a member here, and since Father Time tells me no more GA, and I’d rather pay a little extra for seated tickets knowing the seat location at time of purchase, it made my decision to cancel easier. But I will miss this forum because I learned about a lot of basic problems democrats have with moderate voters, that could be an extensive post lol. I see similar thought processes here as other liberal outlets such as msnow.
What I did mind is I wasn’t given an opportunity to clarify. Punishment was rendered which is fine, pun intended, but my ability to communicate with members here and “the authority” was completely taken away. I dont need to contribute to an org like that, even if it’s only $35.
And I brought it back up only from a humor perspective. I found it very ironic that there was that image posted yesterday calling me bad names for being a complainer in context of the above. I’m fairly certain the flag feature was used against me, the evidence I would post is circumstantial but there is a decent amount of it. I could never prove who, fairly certain who it was and it wasn’t you lol. Again, I found it funny, lol. It’s no big deal/you found it funny but you collected evidence to back your case? I have a memory, evidence possibly comes from there? And I did say it was circumstantial evidence, which should draw an unbiased reader into a completely different conclusion than you did here, but we know what this place is about.
And I never said it should have been appealed, what I did say was the communication was taken away, and a conclusion was reached about an obscure word with zero communication regarding its meaning. I thought they were big on communication lol.
and this is all besides the point that you are missing as to why I brought it up again, the irony of the personal attack yesterday. Which you know, is standard here from the far left yet they don’t have a second to ever deal with that, and why this place gets so toxic when someone dares cross the liberal standard. Enforcement seems to occur when someone uses the ____ function here. Maybe you know the missing word.
edit, and no, I searched emails and did not have access to that, or simply don’t know where they are, and they go as far as using a no reply email to notify of a ban. But I’m lying, it’s much easier for your world to be true when that’s your fundamental thought in every comment I make.
I have no idea what that word means, and I would not have thought of any sort of racial intent behind it. Its kind of funny if you were reprimanded for that (funny in a glad-it-wasn't-me sort of way)0 -

Mid-Atlantic and I would never use that word. First time I heard of a jigger for cocktails I nearly had the vapors.0

I can't recall hearing that shortened version of the word, and in the context it didn't spark any sort of connection to me.mickeyrat said:mace1229 said:
I'm just really curious now, were you put on time out because you said "jiggs" ?Lerxst1992 said:HughFreakingDillon said:
Regarding your third paragraph, come on, they don’t have an appeals division of ten club forums to form a subcommittee and review your case. They have emails you could have sent. There’s like 10 people. 2 of which moderate thousands of comments.Lerxst1992 said:HughFreakingDillon said:never heard that form of the term, honestly. I had to look it up. first thing that came up was type of Newfoundland dinner. lol. But then I found the issue you had with it (ironically, I had to ask AI lol-and I also found it was the name of a sports announcer, as he is claiming he meant). It honestly never would have crossed my mind. Given his posting history, I honestly wouldn't have thought it was a racist jab of any kind. For us here, it’s not just a random announcer, it’s the defining voice of the Islanders in the 80s. I never thought of that name in an offensive manner. I could go on for paragraphs about that, but it wouldn’t matter.
And it’s not the reason you’re leaving, but it is?In any event…That’s funny but your comment is your typical straw man. I didn’t collect evidence. Didn’t say that.
Its kind of funny if you were reprimanded for that (funny in a glad-it-wasn't-me sort of way)you've never heard of jiggaboo and it variants? really?in the midst of discussion related to proposed policy agenda for nyc which this poster takes great issue with, railing against giveaways and other assorted bullshit , as if a mayor rules by fiat. That statement was made.I perceived overtly racist intent and reported it after several days waiting for a reponse to the question posed in my reply.

Hello! This is Jan Eliasson writing today. Recent events have once again led me to reflect on international law and why it is so crucial.
International law was not born out of theories or well-meaning ambitions, but out of the ruins of human catastrophes. After two world wars, the Holocaust, and unimaginable suffering, the world realized that power without rules leads to barbarism. That is why the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, and the international legal order were created—an order that to this day forms the foundation of peace and security.
At its core, international law is simple: states are equal, borders must be respected, force may only be used in self-defense, and people must be protected, even in war. It is an attempt to make the world less brutal, more predictable, and more humane. For countries like Sweden, this is not an abstract idea. It is a lifeline. We have never been protected by brute force, but by cooperation, legal rules, and trust between states. When international law is respected, even small countries can safeguard their independence and their democracy.
But today we see this order beginning to crack. Great powers increasingly act as if the world were divided into spheres of influence, where the will of the strong takes precedence over shared rules. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine is the clearest example, but not the only one. The United States’ intervention in Venezuela, the brazen claims to Greenland, and China’s demands regarding Taiwan show how quickly the principle of territorial integrity can be eroded when power politics take over. When states place their own interests above the rules they themselves helped create, the world risks sliding toward something resembling the law of the jungle. This is a dangerous development for the entire international system. In a world where rules are replaced by power, it is always small, open democracies that have the most to lose.
Standing up for international law is therefore not naïve. It is necessary. For peace. For justice. And for Sweden’s future.
We should remember the words of former Prime Minister Olof Palme: “Respect for international law is our first line of defense.”

Unfortunately, I'd say it's a coin flip on whether I'd be safer in Venezuela or the Twin Cities right now. Seems that both have paramilitary thugs roaming the streets looking for Americans.gimmesometruth27 said:
