Point is, I think adding such a function would clean up a lot of slop that we read/search/scroll through on these forums. I read his comment and I liked it. I wanted to let him know I liked it. I did not need to elaborate further on his comment. But, these forums being as they are, to do so, I had to add a post. It would be a cleaner look for all of us if I simply could have a reaction button and clicked 👍 or 🤣. My reaction to his post was not intended to trigger anyone by suggesting a potential improvement to an antiquated message board system.

I don't recall the original post. Was it a response to the Juggler? If so, he is referred to by many of us here as "Juggs". And that would lead to me to 2 possibilities.

A. It was a typo as the I and U key are next to each other.
2. It was a mocking of the "Juggs" nickname.

Considering the source, I'd venture it was option 2. Whether it was intended with racism or not I can't say. 
And if the response was not directed at Juggs, then wipe out my whole post. As I said, don't recall (or know that I saw) the original post.

Out of curiosity I did a search for "jiggs." That comment was easy to find. Juggs wasn't involved in the conversation.

For us here, it’s not just a random announcer, it’s the defining voice of the Islanders in the 80s. I never thought of that name in an offensive manner. I could go on for paragraphs about that, but it wouldn’t matter.

Honestly I didnt mind the ban. It made me confront the reason for being a member here, and since Father Time tells me no more GA, and I’d rather pay a little extra for seated tickets knowing the seat location at time of purchase, it made my decision to cancel easier. But I will miss this forum because I learned about a lot  of basic problems democrats have with moderate voters, that could be an extensive post lol. I see similar thought processes here as other liberal outlets such as msnow.

What I did mind is I wasn’t given an opportunity to clarify. Punishment was rendered which is fine, pun intended,  but my ability to communicate with members here and “the authority” was completely taken away. I dont need to contribute to an org like that, even if it’s only $35.

And I brought it back up only from a humor perspective. I found it very ironic that there was that image posted yesterday calling me bad names for being a complainer in context of the above.  I’m fairly certain the flag feature was used against me, the evidence I would post is circumstantial but there is a decent amount of it. I could never prove who, fairly certain who it was and it wasn’t you lol. Again, I found it funny, lol.

Regarding your third paragraph, come on, they don’t have an appeals division of ten club forums to form a subcommittee and review your case. They have emails you could have sent. There’s like 10 people. 2 of which moderate thousands of comments. 

It’s no big deal/you found it funny but you collected evidence to back your case? And it’s not the reason you’re leaving, but it is?

I've also posted that comment about adding a "like" in other areas of the forums (i.e. Porch and AET). It doesn't apply only to AMT. I seldom venture into AMT. Adding such a function wouldn't be limited only to "likes" either. Maybe angry, confused, laughs and some other reactions. 

Point is, I think adding such a function would clean up a lot of slop that we read/search/scroll through on these forums. I read his comment and I liked it. I wanted to let him know I liked it. I did not need to elaborate further on his comment. But, these forums being as they are, to do so, I had to add a post. It would be a cleaner look for all of us if I simply could have a reaction button and clicked 👍 or 🤣. My reaction to his post was not intended to trigger anyone by suggesting a potential improvement to an antiquated message board system.

I get it. Where this originated, they went after an actual righty who dared to appear here with a cute little put down and you want that thumbs up there. I get that conservative comment wasn’t exactly high brow, but it’s not like anyone is looking balanced or reasonable debate here, whether we are discussing far left politics or a fair way to sell or buy tickets.

So what is it that you want? 

My guess is he/she wants everyone to quote posts we want to show a reaction to so we can all scroll more.

Or maybe it is as simple as some people like to have a higher number of posts in their profile and adding a reaction function would reduce the need for some posts. I don't know. 

As with my thoughts on the lengthy post from Brian this morning - I would have been happy to "like" it to acknowledge I enjoyed the post. Instead, to show my appreciation, I had to quote it and now it's more scrolling for everyone.

If someone is making an aggressive counterattack that crosses into ad hominem behavior, it would seem the courageous thing to do would be to use the quote function, since you decided to interject here. I don’t think many are here for courage, however.

Eh, it was his professional name and how he is honored in the Hockey Hall of Fame, Broadcaster category. I wouldn’t expect anyone to know that, but I also wouldn’t expect for someone to complain to authority  it was somehow offensive and warranted filling out a report similar to the picture above you provided here in an attempt to belittle me.

not every time someone gets a timeout it's a result of someone flagging a post. the mods do peruse the forums and take action on their own. I'd say flagging is quite rare here, actually.

I don't recall the original post. Was it a response to the Juggler? If so, he is referred to by many of us here as "Juggs". And that would lead to me to 2 possibilities.

A. It was a typo as the I and U key are next to each other.
2. It was a mocking of the "Juggs" nickname.

Considering the source, I'd venture it was option 2. Whether it was intended with racism or not I can't say. 
And if the response was not directed at Juggs, then wipe out my whole post. As I said, don't recall (or know that I saw) the original post.

Out of curiosity I did a search for "jiggs." That comment was easy to find. Juggs wasn't involved in the conversation.

Honestly I didnt mind the ban. It made me confront the reason for being a member here, and since Father Time tells me no more GA, and I’d rather pay a little extra for seated tickets knowing the seat location at time of purchase, it made my decision to cancel easier. And I brought it back up only from a humor perspective. I found it very ironic that there was that image posted yesterday calling me bad names for being a complainer in context of the above.  I’m fairly certain the flag feature was used against me, the evidence I would post is circumstantial but there is a decent amount of it. I could never prove who, fairly certain who it was and it wasn’t you lol. Again, I found it funny, lol.

Regarding your third paragraph, come on, they don’t have an appeals division of ten club forums to form a subcommittee and review your case. They have emails you could have sent. There’s like 10 people. 2 of which moderate thousands of comments. 

It’s no big deal/you found it funny but you collected evidence to back your case? And it’s not the reason you’re leaving, but it is?

That’s funny but your comment is your typical straw man. I didn’t collect evidence. Didn’t say that. I have a memory, evidence possibly comes from there? And I did say it was circumstantial evidence, which should draw an unbiased reader into a completely different conclusion than you did here, but we know what this place is about.
 
And I never said it should have been appealed, what I did say was the communication was taken away, and a conclusion was reached about an obscure word with zero communication regarding its meaning. I thought they were big on communication lol.

The one time I was given a time out I didn't bother trying, I never claimed it would be successful, I don't know as it didn't matter to me at the time. I moved on when it happened. That's what adults do.

Donald Trump has said that he does not “need international law” and that his power is limited only by his “own morality”.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Trump said the only constraint to his power as president of the US is “my own morality, my own mind”.

“It’s the only thing that can stop me,” Trump said, adding: “I’m not looking to hurt people.” He went on to concede “I do” in regards to whether his administration needed to adhere to international law, but said: “It depends on what your definition of international law is.”

Trump, who spoke to the newspaper as his administration looks into “a range of options” in attempts to gain control of Greenland, also emphasized the importance of ownership.

“Ownership is very important,” Trump said, adding: “Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success. I think that ownership gives you a thing that you can’t do with, you’re talking about a lease or a treaty. Ownership gives you things and elements that you can’t get from just signing a document.”

Trump also dismissed concerns that his decision to oust Nicolás Maduro as Venezuela’s president would set the precedent of a potential Chinese takeover of Taiwan or Russia’s attempt to control Ukraine.

Justifying the US’s attacks on Venezuela, Trump repeated his controversial claims Maduro had allegedly sent gang members into the US.

“This was a real threat … You didn’t have people pouring into China. You didn’t have drugs pouring into China. You didn’t have all of the bad things that we’ve had. You didn’t have the jails of Taiwan opened up and the people pouring into China,” Trump said, adding that no criminals were “pouring into Russia”.

He said that he does not believe Chinese president Xi Jinping would seize control of Taiwan, telling the New York Times: “That’s up to him, what he’s going to be doing. But you know, I’ve expressed to him that I would be very unhappy if he did that and I don’t think he’ll do that. I hope he doesn’t.”

Trump added: “He may do it after we have a different president but I don’t think he’s going to do it with me as president.”

He also appeared unconcerned about the last arms control treaty between the US and Russia that is set to expire next month.

“If it expires, it expires,” Trump said, adding: “We’ll just do a better agreement.” He went on to say that China should be included in future agreements, saying: “You probably want to get a couple of other players involved also.”

Trump’s latest interview comes amid growing domestic tensions following ICE’s fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday, which has spurred intense protests, and amid fraying relations with European allies over a potential US takeover of Greenland.
