I'm digging the rumors of Stephen Perkins!

Guy loves the Who. Here's him playing Who Are You 14 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzlhFf6vqdc

    Love Dave K to bits.
But it's not going to be him.

I just want a drummer who can play as long a show as the rest of the band wants to play.
Ditto.  I’m hoping whoever they choose means more dates and potentially longer sets.  Particularly in the Michigan area 😉

Maybe this throwback to 2003 will prompt the band to tour and play those awesome anti-war songs.
    Also retrofit Bu$leaguer.

Probably the best evidence that it's not Krusen is how publicly vocal he's been about him wanting the gig. Knowing how secretive the band is, you know if he were actually in discussions for the gig, they would be telling him to keep it under wraps until they were ready to make an announcement.

    I've seen 41 proper shows.

    I'll be 50 in May of 2027.

Over the next year and a half, it would be great if the rock gods gave me another 9 shows, with the 9th on my actual birthday, so I can join Shohei in the 50/50 club, upon which I would officially announce my retirement from concerts.

Note: I'd also retire if/when The Strokes play somewhere on my birthday, as they're my only Mount Rushmore band that I haven't seen on my bday (PJ, Pumpkins, Metallica).
I was aiming for 40 by 40 in 2020, but we all know how that year went. I did manage to get to 45 by 45 on the Dark Matter tour. Arbitrary life goal attained!

I'm just a baby compared to many of you, but I have some sort of thingy...happening.

    4 shows total
    3 different cities
    2 indoor shows
    1 show out-of-state
Hey so does this mean you know something?  Notre dame show (de1473 had provided some details like he knew something 9/6 maybe), 2 in one Ohio city and one in another?  You also mention Alpine Valley.

     I’m probably reading into stuff.

This would be great,  Milwaukee is due for a show, So Alpine would cover that area. Ohio is due for shows as well.

This is a legit question. How much time will they need to get the new drummer up to speed? What about the deeper cuts like U, Leatherman or All Or None?

There's just so, so many questions right now. And who's to say the band has even been together much since Pittsburgh? I really get the feeling that it's sort of a "Metallica thing" whereas James doesn't even live in California when they're not together. I wouldn't be surprised if the guys scatter to the wind for months on end, especially following a tour.

Corduroy would have to be in the mix. E-Flow. Alive? Then maybe they’d throw in some odd time jam like Sleight of Hand.

A drummer doesn't have to learn the entire catalogue at once. When they decide on a tour, the band - but probably really Ed - creates a roster of whatever number of songs. The drummer learns these ones and the band focuses on rehearsing that roster. If during a tour Ed decides to throw in the occasional deep cut, they'll rehearse and the drummer will learn those particular songs.
This almost guarantees no more Grievance moment for the foreseeable future.
