What was the last movie you watched?

  • Xmas movies are fun and I find tied to people’s memories growing up. I never watched Miracle on 34th Street but two years ago went to the Fabulous Fox Theater (yes that one!) and watched it with the family. They also bring up the old fashioned organ and do a sing along on the screen. Pretty fun.

I will also throw in Violent Night starring David Harbor. It’s two/three great Xmas movies that make a new cool Xmas movie!

Mix together Die Hard and Home Alone, plus maybe Bad Santa? I don’t know, but it’s stupid fun and gross. How can you beat that?
Violent Night was watched in eager anticipation in our house:

    1) we all love Stranger Things
    2) it was filmed in Winnipeg

I love The Way, Way Back! Kid is great, Rockwell is awesome and Carrell is horrible (I mean his character, what a jerk!) in the best way. Great movie.

Yes, I enjoyed the Way, Way Back and don't know how I wasn't aware of it before. Carrell nails that role and I hated his character which I can't remember with him being in such a role.

About what I expected. Entertaining enough, not expecting any Oscar nominations

I gotta say, I was pretty surprised when they announced the sequel.

It was ok for what it was. Certainly no Christmas classic, that’s for sure. 😂

The premise is great. But it felt way more "geezer teaser" direct-to-video-cheap than I expected.

Kind of surprised this film isn't discussed more often. I was definitely late to the party on seeing it, but a little too on the nose with everything that has happened the last 4-5 years! Also, a handful of great performances. I am split on Adam McKay as a writer/director, but think he nailed this. Was shocked to see it's 55% on rotten tomatoes.

this came on my radar when I saw the trailer for the 2nd one. Think I might go to the theatre for that.

dammit, the sequel is already gone from my local theatres.

Left my mom’s yesterday from watching SEC championship, grabbed some smoked brisket fried rice from our local bbq, and came home to find my daughter had just started this. Went ahead and watched. It’s fine, but Kurt Russel is always fun. My kid loved it, and it was a fun time watching it with her.

After she went to bed, watched this. Guess I had a Russel family film fest. Enjoyed this, but it’s definitely an all vibes movie, not a huge plot. Actors looked like they all had a tremendous time filming this.

I love this movie - I think I've watched it 3 times, lol.
