Sometimes things just happen. Call it luck or coincidence.Lost In Ohio said:Sarava said:Amantria said:Lost In Ohio said:
Given three Fenway things in two bags, I'm convinced this is rigged. Ha!
Plus, we've seen Dimitris get a baseball and Leeze get a Benaroya Hall record. (Those people deserve those items!)
I'm not SAYING it's rigged, but there's no way it's 100% "Let's throw random stuff into bags and throw shipping labels on random bags."
Ok, so this has been eating at me since early this morning, so I'm just going to put my two cents in so I can get it off my chest.
Its pretty obvious that if you're a forum regular and well known here, you're a pretty big fan.
But being a big fan and being a regular around here are NOT mutually exclusive. I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I've been a loyal fan since 1993, which is more than 2/3 of my life, but I'm not on here much. I cannot be the minority there.
One would like to think with things like these, you're on an even playing field. Like the old NY Lottery commercials "all you need is a dollar and a dream." I'd hope that everyone has an equal chance at something awesome. This bag cost me close to $120, which is not an insignificant amount of money. THIS is my treat to myself this year. If it's rigged in favor of others that means mine and every other regular person out there has a higher chance of a foam finger and a deep t shirt.
I was lucky enough to be able to buy a bag, and I'm grateful for that, but I'm not gonna lie. The prospect of it being skewed really rained on my parade, and I was really really enjoying the suspense and cheering everyone on as I waited my turn. I'm a nobody here but as Charlie Bucket said, "I've got the same chances as anybody else, haven't I?"
Honestly I don't think so. Nobody here or in ten club knows my wife Cathy - but she got a Kong in a mystery sale 5 or 6 years ago.
Me, in more than a few places, circa 2013-15:
"PJ Fenway won't happen. There's no way. Eddie's buddy Theo now works in Chicago."
Since then, I've won 10C tickets to Fenway for night 2 2016, a 2018 Fenway night 2 setlist shirt, a Fenway 2016 baseball jersey, a Boston 9/17/2024 license plate and a Fenway Park banner.
Karma? The PJ gods? Santos? Dumb luck?
I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist, but just WTF is going on here?
"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K."
Case in point: out of thousands of people in Pittsburgh N1, Ed chose me for the thing. I don't know him. We've never met. Pure luck. The PJ gods smiled at me that night.#Grievance20250 -
Exactly where I am too Mike,mcgruff10 said:I have a lot of posts over the years and have never received anything special in the mystery sales. However I have met a lot of great people and was even granted a song request last year.
In fact I have been given three requests which is insane when you think about it and I'd take those every day of the week over a cool item in the mail. Those nights are etched into my brain and I will be forever thankful.0 -
Ive met the man several times and your judging skills are as good as you say, as he is without doubt a totally sound guy. Super chap.CROJAM95 said:

was nice to get it on my Birthday.
i have the riot act and ten club shirt already …
id like to trade a combo of things for a new xl hoodie.. I like the Ohana shark one or another I don’t have . The vip laminate is pretty cool!A dudes dude !0 -
I’m both ways on it. It’s definitely a luck thing unless they want to hook you up with something, like leeze and the benny and a few others. Those weren’t random. They make all the bags random some with special stuff most not, and then they make a few special ones for folks they knew have been wanting certain things or are active on the forum. It is what it is
i got a pj20 color back in ‘13’s mystery vinyl sale and will always assume that was my hookup because I’ve never really gotten anything since lol, nor my wife. It’s all in good fun, enjoy the mystery
I'm like an opening band for your mom.0 -
These bags are starting to arrive internationally now. My XL bag is being delivered to my house in the U.K. tomorrow0

"Strange things are afoot at the Circle K."Maybe...but if you notice, they tend to over-produce Boston items and they show up aplenty in most mystery sales.Either way - getting back to that other poster's point about having a fair chance at the good stuff. I think even if things like this were done here or there, they still give awesome items out randomly - hence my wife's Kong poster.

Not at home with my haul...I was able to snag a box late as they became available again in the evening a bit. It's what I expected so I am happy with it and it was certainly fun.
Nothing we haven't seen here...a fan club shirt, a dark matter shirt, the yield hoodie (this is nice), PJ beach towel, black pic. I did get a Fenway banner and a Mass plate that I'd be willing to trade for something...
Would like a Wrigley banner and a Raleigh plate...but if you want these items, pm me and let's see what we can get done.hippiemom = goodness0 -

XL arrived in the UK today - already have the basketball and that 10C t-shirt from last year, but everything else is new. Probably didn’t get £126 (inc shipping) worth for me because of that, but you win some and you lose some - the Wrigley banner is awesome and will be going up in my bar as soon as I finish work, while the license plate is very helpfully covering some holes in my home office where I removed a wireless access point.0 -
We need a UK trade page

It doesn't seem the majority of the monthly contents are won by members here.
Last years signed posters seemed pretty well spread out. With one exception. I don't have one.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -

Still waiting with giddy anticipation from my "S" mystery bag (i'm a "L" lol), but it'll be fun for Xmas #2 this year (#1 was my fantasy roto-auction draft in March - WON!)... i will definitely come back to this page when the MB has arrived to GIVEAWAY items to the people that really want them. (but i must say, getting "S" t-shirts may not be a bad thing... they'd be great to give away to dates for upcoming shows!)0
