    I hear this often. I think everyone realizes that, especially in a context like this, America is not referring to the Americas, but rather short for United States of America. Most often when I hear America being used, it's referring to USA and not the continents.

    I reject that completely, and I hate the argument. People of the USA are Americans. Everyone else in North America are whatever they are (in my case, Canadian), and can also be called "North Americans". No Canadian would EVER refer to themselves as American, and I can't imagine anyone from any of the other N.A. countries would either. Nobody calls themselves Americans except for actual Americans. I truly don't understand why anyone would argue differently.

    People and media generally interchange the “United States of America” with “America” simply due to ease of use. Also, folks will rarely state “I’m from the United States” and it’s impossible to say “I’m a United Statesian.”

    That is tricky. And the demonym "Americans" is kinda strange given the continents.

    I propose we change the country's name to "Amagaca." We'd name it after its most beloved citizen without actually giving it his name. Then we could be "Amagacans." It would simplify, clarify, and better describe who we are.

    Sorry, Cash Jordan on you tube . The last six months every screen  grab of him is Fox News, which never was the case in the days I watched his nyc apartment videos. Once he started covering the nyc immigration crisis (probably unavoidable as he commuted around queens, manhattan, Brooklyn mostly)…

    it probably became unavoidable to not cover during the air conditioned bus to luxury hotel era /s. It almost went from crazy pandemic problems to crazy immigrants problems on the streets here. The national dems chit the bed here, and much of the country noticed.
