I used to hope for northern pike when fishing the Connecticut and White rivers as a kid.
    Never got one.
    Those are cool looking.

    Beautiful. ^^^

I never caught one. As a kid, me a few friends did a canoe trip through a couple lakes and the waterways connecting them. Pike were caught (just not by me!)
My bud 'borrowed' my lure and was nailing them. Never could get lure back!

Might have to go get my line wet today.

    Great pike!!!

Been out a few times this fall in the NYC reservoir system. Water lower than I have ever seen it and nada. A few small bites but nothing even close to being picture worthy.

Interesting. I was poking around by Pepacton (sp) res. It looked super low.
Today's catches. Nice variety, nothing huge. Spotted a load of big trout late in the day. We're happy just zipping around the river. Not biting.

The first fish I caught was a crappie!  Very cool.  You in Sussex County?

Morris. Haven't caught them forever til a few weeks ago.
    Hard hitting fish.
Want to go back for those trout. Only 'catch' is that spot is directly below a hunters' tree stand. I'll just throw a bright vest on risk spooking the fish. Better than cupid taking me out!
Quietly fished a hole once with my bud only to realize a hunter holding a big gun was leaning against a tree. I motioned to my friend to be quiet, he did the opposite! We survived that trip.

Bumped to p1 to shake some more fish convo up

Went back to my secret spot. Big trout cruising all over.
Had the spot to myself for about 20 minutes. Couldn't get a bite.
Another dude showed up and told me he got 2 the day before. Walked right into the hole. Gave me appropriate space. He lost 1 and caught another. I continued to have chasers and no bites. That's ok with me. Was fun to actually put on my waders and fish for a solid hour.

It's nice to hear another angler gave you the appropriate amount of space.  That, in itself, is a nice victory.  These big trout, browns or bows?

I remember my parents taking us to the Salton Sea as kids to fish for tilapia. My parents loved the fish because of the high salinity of the godforsaken "sea". Probably lots of chemicals in those fillets. It was fun and lots of obsidian along the shore, which was great for us kids.

Fresh stocked bows. They do a fall stockings here. 16 up to 20 +inches. There are browns to be found. Just don't typically stock those. Some clubs do and there are wild ones.

In PA, more bows get stocked and some are 20+, but I'd rather catch a big brown.  Trout = nature's art.  (especially the wild ones lol)
