If the board cares about Tesla's long term health as a company, you let Musk leave, if not force him to. He brings nothing to the table and hes a net negative on the company.

oh for sure. many people will not even entertain the idea of riding in a tesla strictly because of musk's association with the brand.

but tesla being tesla, i can see them giving him the trillion dollars. i don't think they can envision being a company without him.

I am very close to buying a Tesla.  Just a really great car.

I guess I don't care who the founder/CEO or whatever is.  There are probably shitty people all over the high ranks of any car company.

    Not as shitty as Musk.
I really like Teslas too, but I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to buy one at the moment, no matter how much I actually wanted one (moot point in reality - I am able to live car-free. But in a different reality, if I wanted a car, I would probably want a Tesla, if Musk didn't reap the benefits).

I dunno - I ride in the all the time, since I use Uber several times a week, and about 90% of Uber drivers drive Teslas. They all love their cars, and I think they are a great ride - nice, not cheap and shitty, and lots of power. I keep hearing some people say they are junk, but my own experience tells me otherwise. My impression in that the "Teslas are junk" theory is ideological (although I will say that the cybertruck is pretty junky. Not the appearance (I actually think they look kinda cool), but the construction of them and some of the materials are wack).
I think the interior feels cheap and the doors are super thin.  Weight of the doors tells me a lot about a car's construction. I'm sure a plaid feels great, but the standard models that Uber drivers have always feel meh.

They gotta be more problematic nazi-wise than a Musk vehicle 😉
That was 80 years ago.  Same with Mercedes and obviously Volkwagon was started by the Nazi party.

Okay. Then how is 2025 BMW the same as ww2 era BMW? And does this include their US manufacturing plant in South Carolina? Also, Henry Ford was a total jagoff, so is Ford included in the boycott?
Not just a jagoff, but in the pre-war period Ford had a plant in Nazi Germany.  Plus the book Henry Ford wrote.  I think GM was doing business with Germany too.

Also.. since we're talking about BMW's.. I'm selling one of mine in case anyone is in the market.  No electronic steering, no turbo, no supercharger, no driver assistance.  Just a proper analog vehicle.

    I presume you mean IBM.

But did IBM develop it for the Holocaust or was their technology just leveraged for it?

Well, I feel goofy. But yes, I did mean IBM. And yes, my understanding is that IBM did custom work specifically for the Nazi regime, it wasn't just leveraged for them.

Just did some reading.  That is crazy. Especially since Watson's sons both fought in the war, yet his subsidiaries were supplying the Germans.
