I still can’t believe I will outright own a 2nd home looking to close up in Vermont by November! Will keep this house here on Long Island for 3 years max and then sell it
Best of luck with that Jose! Keep us updated

Just read this whole thread. Except for the politically charged derailment, it has been an interesting read. My financial advisor tells me I have 6 more years until I can retire. If I had a financial advisor 20 years ago I would probably be retiring now. We have a nice house with a record room, music rehearsal room, and pool that should be paid off a little after retirement. We might someday sell and downsize. I'm also thinking about selling most of my records and moving the instruments into the record room and maybe renting out that rehearsal room upstairs. Problem is that we'd have to install a kitchen up there. Not really sure it will be worth the hassle.

This is a great thread to find out how others are preparing for and living in retirement.

Can’t speak for them but I think the political stuff was the first few pages when certain people had an immediate knee jerk reaction to any mention of Florida.

It's unimportant, probably shouldn't have mentioned it. I'm just so fuckin' sick of any politics. It is poisoning my view of people in this world. /end.

The important thing is YAY RETIREMENT some day... I hope to do a lot of ceramics to supplement my income. I am lucky enough that I make pretty good money for my stuff, but can't count on that trend to continue. I need to branch out with my wares.

I have thousands and it takes sooo long to price and sell. Starting now so my wife doesn't have to deal with all of the bullshit if I leave this mortal coil.

Yeah. I'm over fighting with people online about this stuff. I have a Republican neighbor and we disagree about some stuff, but we have civil conversations because we talk face to face. All this online posturing is only dividing us and destroying our humanity and goodwill towards fellow humans. It's time to just stop.
