I have Strava because I'm getting notifications that an old collegue is liking stuff from me on there. So must be connected to my Garmin/app. My self I only check in on my Garmin Connect app.
A "City Trail" race in my hometown this weekend. 8,5k or 14k. Thinking about running it, albeit alone.

Arthroscopic hip surgery for me yesterday (they repaired a labral tear, removed some bone spurs, and reshaped the bone).
Doctor said surgery went well and that he is happy with results. Pain is not too bad but I am terrified of moving incorrectly and re-tearing it this week.
Estimated 4-5 months before I can run again but I am using the time to reset and rebuild - lots of opportunity to rebuild strength and fix my running form and some muscle imbalances.0 -
Hope you rebuild quickly, PJ-C
A big step to take.
Flying to Nashville today after being in CA for 7 days prior to the weekend.
In NJ, there is hard backed snow and ice and running outside is treacherous. After a few days of that (and a miserable Dreadmill session in my basement) im really looking forward to running hard tomorrow AM with no ice or snow block concerns.
Gonna push it.

Thanks! I am targeting a late fall half marathon and a spring 2027 marathon if everything goes well but am going to follow the PTs lead and listen to my body.F Me In The Brain said:Hope you rebuild quickly, PJ-C

Enjoy the runs in Nashville. If I remember correctly, it is hilly there so you will get some great work in
(disclaimer- I live in Illinois and it is hilly everywhere compared to here)0 -
Feels like -4 ° F this morning, with wind.. Was technically 7°.
Instead of planned 6 miles i thought it would be fun to run 10 miles in this gross weather.
1] I saw one other person. Normally in my area on a Saturday morning if I wait until sunrise (which i did today) I might see 20 runners.
2] it is fucking cold. Had everything covered except my face, so while my junk about froze off the only part that was really bothersome was my face.
3] my water bottle spout froze somewhere during mile 5, so I had no carb/electro drink on the back half.
4] I was slow as shit. My calves never really loosened up were sort of wonky the whole way.
5] took a nice roll in mile 8, hit a root when zoning out and not picking my feet up properly. Actually laughed, during, and came right back up into a jog. Probably my finest Wipeout and no worse for wear.
6] fuck this weather. Is it summer yet? 🌞The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
Wow. I admire your running in his weather. It’s going to be the treadmill for me. I don’t even feel like going outside to walk the 4 blocks to the gym - but will try to motivate.F Me In The Brain said:Feels like -4 ° F this morning, with wind.. Was technically 7°.

The fact that almost nobody else was out there was all the personal feedback I hoped for, lol.
Doing what others won't is fuel.

I get that - I’m hoping the gym won’t be too crowded today. I hit the gym a few times a week for weight training and it’s been so crowded with people and their New Year’s resolutions. By end of February or so some will drop out of those and the gym should be less crowded. But I am planning on the treadmill today. I don’t have your tenacity.F Me In The Brain said:The fact that almost nobody else was out there was all the personal feedback I hoped for, lol.
