    Definitely an odd story. I don't really blame the school for interfering with the try outs though. How they did it and that they haven't allowed him back was wrong.

    I say that because they had him on file as a female his entire school career, the parents never corrected it until the nigh before the tryouts. Assuming the AD doesn't personally know him or the situation, it would be weird to have a 13 year old female (or who they believed to be female based on their records) who has been in your district for several years suddenly provide a different birth certificate the night before tryouts. 

    But don't do it in front of others. Have a private conversation and a DNA test shouldn't be necessary. 

    I have a kid in the 5th grade. If the school had him registered as a female, I would have definitely taken care of that by now. I wouldn't want things like this coming up and him getting picked on and called a girl for the next 5 years.
