Spent the past two days at Osheaga fest in Montreal with my daughter. It was a blast and was a pleasure seeing many bands I’d not seen before, some of which I’d heard but not seen live, and others were completely unknown. Some highlights were Doechii, Glass Animals, Dominic Fike, Tyler the Creator, Tv on the Radio, BBNO$, Group Project, and the Killers (partial set only). As fun as it is to experience new music, seeing what hits with younger generations is almost equally fun to experience through other peoples’ eyes.

Went to Nine Inch Nails in Vancouver on Sunday.  Hadn't seen them in 17 years, pretty good show.

Next up is Oasis in Toronto.  Then scaling it down to a Mudhoney show where I live (Victoria, BC) in September.  After that, a bit of a drought.  Nothing really peaking my interest in fall/winter yet to get me to travel off my island :)

last night took the teen to The Burt Block Party, which is an annual summer 4 night "festival" on the grounds of the Burton Cummings Theatre (1 night each of rock, alternative, country, and classic rock). The night we went to was Glorious Sons (headliner), Everclear, and JJ Wilde. Was awesome. Teen loved it.

@HughFreakingDillon I was up there for the Saturday shows from MN.  My 10th time seeing TGS and the first time in Canada.  I knew it would be a different show up there, but wow they really brought it!  Had a great time, and JJW is always fun to see as well.  I hadn't been to Winnipeg since PJ in 2011 and forgot how great the city is.  Had a really fun time.  Plenty of comments from people about the MN Wild hat I was wearing

wicked! were you the one who posted the sets on setlist.fm? just wondering, as I think it's a similar username to the one here.

I posted the JJW one as we got a picture of it from the guy who got it right in front of us. Added the missing song today on the TGS one. Did you happen to be wearing the new retro PJ hat there?  Saw a guy with one but didn’t get a chance to say anything at the time.

I saw 311 last night in Colorado Springs. They still sound great, amazing musicianship and great live energy.

Billy Strings at the Commodore Ballroom Vancouver (990 capacity). I can’t say I got the full Billy Strings experience because I politely declined the free hits of acid I was offered in the lineup to get in 😆. Still though, what an experience it was! Amazing show! While bluegrass is not something I listen to a whole lot of I definitely dig Billy’s brand of (psychadelic?) bluegrass in the live setting. The long jams get his fanbase literally jumping & the energy is totally infectious.
Met lots of super friendly travelling fans.
Feel very lucky my first Billy experience was up close in a small venue.

Red Clay Strays last night at the Allianz amphitheatre in Richmond. Been wanting to see them for awhile and they didn't disappoint. Brandon Coleman is an amazing singer. I highly recommend seeing them
