I saw Jerry Cantrell on Wednesday and it was amazing. He played a perfect mix of solo and AIC stuff, and most importantly, he appeared happy and healthy. He’s the man.
Saw him Sunday.  Great freakin show!
His Seattle show is a definite contender for my personal top show of 2025. Rare example of how even when knowing what the majority of the setlist is gonna be, the show can still reach amazing heights. So thankful I made the effort to hit the road and see this tour.

In the last 2 weeks saw Neil Young, Oasis, NIN. Great run of shows.
Awesome run of shows GG. Can I ask how Neil Young was? We'll see him tommorow(Sept.6). Curious about the other 2 bands also though I don't believe we'll have opportunity to see them anytime soon.
Opening bands were ok in Toronto, but not amazing in my personal opinion. Astrid Young had some good stuff and I’d seen her much earlier playing in one of Neil’s bands. Rev Billy - I liked some of the music itself (particularly some of the instrumentation) but there was a lot of talking / preaching between songs which just broke things up too much for me. Glad I saw both of them, but may not see either on their own without being an opener for a headliner I wanted to see.

    Hope you enjoy the show.
Sorry for the late reply. Hope you enjoyed Neil Young last night. I thought he was great. If you saw what I posted in his thread the one negative to that show was they closed the pit due to flooding and I would have had rail. Instead they reassigned us to seats. This was at Jones Beach. But I thought he sounded amazing and I loved the set list. What did you think of the show?
No sorry for my late reply and thanks for posting your thoughts. Enjoyed the first show so much I went back for night 2 at the last minute. Tough to find a ticket because TM blocked sales or transfers all day Monday from what I understand. I sure did see your pictures in the Neil thread but it appears that those in charge made the right call. Oh and you did get a great setlist, I still haven't caught Fuckin' Up by  anybody. Was really hoping for that,Rockin',Cinnamon Girl but we got Like a Hurricane which was awesome but mostly the same songs as night 1. I guess a person really has to appreciate each time an outdoor show has great weather. Actually there was a brief downpour Saturday  before the show and a brief bit of lightning nearby but no issues at all during Neil's set. Both nights were shirt sleeve mild which is a bit warmer than normal in early Sept.in Greater Vancouver. Awesome venue called Deer Lake Park, 10,000 person capacity all standing or bring a blanket but no chairs.

Gov't Mule and Tedeschi/Trucks Band tonight.

Incredible experience! Insane levels of musicianship, professionalism and talent on display with those bands.

I saw TTB at The Gorge August 9 this year and in Vancouver on May 25/2024 and with Nugs.net I've seen a ton of TTB shows(or rewatched the same ones a bunch)  including about half of last night's Detroit show. (even by TTB's high standards the first half of that setlist is incredible). I won't look at the rest of the setlist as I just want to see it unfold on Nugs)

They are incredible for all the reasons you mentioned above. I'm less familiar with the Mule but have seen some on Nugs this week. They are very talented too.

I can't believe TTB aren't getting more love around this Other Music thread.

Next stop for TTB is Bridgeport, Conn., 2 nights (Sept. 12,13 and you can pretty much gaurentee there won't be a single song repeated the second night.

The Who in Philly last night.

So glad I made the last-minute decision to see them as this will be the last time, I will ever see them. First time I ever saw them was in 1982.

That must have been amazing to see them at the Gorge!

And I agree, TTB and Gov't Mule should both be celebrated here much more than they are.

My homeboy Mac DeMarco in Boston the other night. I've been a huge fan since Salad Days in 2014, and had no idea that he blew up from TikTok a few years back. So many younger folks. Would explain how it sold out in 30 seconds.

Awesome show, and the man is out of his mind, which only adds to it. Between NIN and this the past few weeks, I've been to some sublime shows!

Took my daughter to see Laufey. Really good! She had an amazing voice and was really cool to have the string quartet, full percussion, piano, stand up bass and more. She even ventures out to a center stage with a jazz quartet for a few songs. I recommend.

Saw Mudhoney last Friday at the Capital Ballroom in Victoria.  Kind of interesting.  Half the crowed was middle aged like me, and the other half was pretty young.  It had a solid pit up front.   I always find it interesting when a bunch of young people go see an older band.

Kind of reminded me of Pearl Jam's Pemberton '16 show, where it was half middle aged people who came for the day, and half young people who were staying the entire festival.

I saw Sebadoh last night and Wolf Alice Saturday both were very good.  Sebadoh's set didn't have the best flow do it though due to Lou Barlow having to tune his guitar a bunch throughout the show but Wolf Alice was awesome

Back in July I posted about seeing my cousins band Vulfpeck at Red Rocks. I got to see them again on the 13th at The Garden (MSG). Big thrill to see a family member on that historic stage.
They rarely tour and did only 3 shows this year.
If you enjoy a band that has major skills and likes to have fun onstage definitely check out Vulfpeck.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. They killed as usual. Wild night in Vancouver. BRMC, The Who, Sparks, & Swell Season all played within a couple blocks of each other.

I was just up the road last night at Rogers arena to see The Who and I'm still buzzing. What a show!! Honestly, it's hard to describe how incredible the band sounded. Roger got an at least 3 minute ovation after Love Rein Over Me. They were in great spirits and the setlist was phenomenal. It got pretty emotional at the end with just Roger and Pete ending with an acoustic number with Roger's hand on Pete's back. If this is the last time I get to see The Who live I couldn't have been to a better show. They proved once again they are still, at least tied with PJ, the best live band in the world.

Garbage and Starcrawler in Toronto two days ago. Garbage was bucket list, and they won't be back. It was 90's alternative nostalgia at its finest.

STARCRAWLER. Go see them if you get the chance. They are incredible. They are the reason I bit the bullet on this show (the expense and trouble of travelling solo for a show). And I wasn't disappointed.
