What song did everyone go to yesterday after hearing about his passing? I immediately put on Changes just wanted to hear his voice and piano def brought out emotions 😢
No More Tears. That riff is a fucking monster.
The first Ozzy solo album I heard was Ultimate Sin. My dad loved Shot in the Dark and bought the album on cassette so we could listen to it in the car without offending my mum! I worked my way backwards through to Blizzard and the early Sabbath records from there.
I think NMT was the last Ozzy album I actually bought, I kinda drifted after that but I still love that record.

Listened to Ultimate Sin yesterday. Been a hot minute. Shot in the Dark is on many Playlists, but cover to cover it had been a long time.
Took me back to driving back from little league, my coach driving the car with a bunch of us kids in it....cranking Ozzy....and popping Miller high life cans. (The coach, not the 11 and 12 year olds) Living in rural areas, all away games were long drives and opportunities to listen to music....mostly metal.

No More Tears was one of my favorite rock songs for a long time. Loved early Sabbath and Ozzy solo in the 80's.
My summer job before College was working a shit job at a plant and sometimes we got to drive the stick shift work truck to go pick up parts or do work on the grounds and one of the only AM stations we got was either radio Disney or the rock station. I remember Crazy Train coming on and us cranking it while we were working. Good times.
It's a hopeless situation...

Yes I was late to that record preferring the less polished more gritty stuff up to bark at the moon. Grown to love it. Could be time I explore his later stuff.

Starting in 1970, Black Sabbath released a string of albums so popular that they made Ozzy Osbourne not just a rock star but a cultural antihero. He became known as the Prince of Darkness and, relatedly, the godfather of heavy metal, which spawned sub-subgenres and sub-sub-subgenres through the decades. “As a boy in the 1980s,” Kelefa Sanneh writes, “I remember hearing that Osbourne was some kind of maniac, and that he had bitten the head off of a dove, or maybe it was a bat.” (The answer was both: the dove in a record-company meeting, because he wanted to cause a scene, and the bat during a concert, because he thought it was fake.) He always made it clear that, for him, raising hell was a pastime rather than a theological interest. He liked to say, “The only evil spirits I’m interested in are called whisky, vodka, and gin.”
In time he emerged from the shadows to become a beloved father figure. He was the guiding spirit of Ozzfest, the travelling metal festival launched by his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, in 1996. And he was the lovable, bumbling dad on “The Osbournes,” an MTV reality show that had its première in 2002. Unlike most aging rockers, he remained prominent in pop culture; the first intentionally “evil” rock star became a guy that everyone loved. “There is a difference, as Osbourne showed us, between dabbling in ‘evil’ imagery and being an evil person—although, as he also showed us, none of us is purely anything,” Sanneh writes. Surprised to see The Viper Room on Sunset Blvd. still open.
News was they'd sold the entire city block to redevelopers...
